1. In Appaloosa the weather was ALWAYS sunny and warm. Temperate. Pleasant and
predictable. An unusual recent drought had been unexpected but short.
Unfortunately for the Baileys what the extreme sun didn’t kill a fungal infection that
followed it finished off. Their garden, and livelihood, was dead.

2. Megan sprang into action. She sat
everyone down and outlined her
plan to get them back on track
financially. She spoke her piece, and
waited for the praise to begin.

3. Instead, Warren took her to one side. He
thanked her for trying to help, but she
should leave this kind of thing to the
grown ups.
Meanwhile, Teresa and James sat
discussed how long the last of their money
would last.

4. But within weeks, all their money was gone. And with bills to pay from
Warren’s earlier reckless spending, Teresa was forced to start selling off
furniture. She tried to hide it form the kids by starting with her
basement bedroom, and all the equipment from their business.

5. But it wasn’t long before the rest of the
house began to get stripped too. James
didn’t mind too much, he wasn’t very
materialistic. But it would take some getting
used to.

6. It was putting a strain on Teresa and Warrens
marriage too. Teresa couldn’t understand how
Warren could be so upbeat despite everything that
was going on.

7. The house was a big empty shell, all progress he had made since he moved in with his
dead wife Miranda cancelled out completely. He was supposed to be the older, more
experienced sim in their relationship – but his recklessness had ruined their family.

8. Megan wasn’t impressed either.
If her parents had taken her
advise weeks ago they might
have avoided all this. Her
nautical themed bedroom was
gone, an empty attic was all she
had left.
Why was her mum stalling? If
they used James’ skills they
could make loads of money
really quickly. Why would no
one listen to her?

9. Too angry to sleep, she had tried to go
for a walk. But she had barely left the
house before being stopped by Trinity.
Their next door neighbour had a go at
her for being so stupid. Being out after
curfew was criminal, and Megan
shouldn’t become known to the police so
early in life.

10. Megan was suitably chastened at
the time. The next day though,
having mulled it over she kept
coming back to the same question.
What was Trinity doing out at 3am
in suspicious black full length
clothes?
The curfew may not apply to adults,
but it was still a bit weird.
