A 2010 double-blind randomized clinical study of 28 patients with abdominal obesity found that after 12 sessions of ReduStim treatment over 6 weeks, patients experienced on average a 6.1 cm reduction in waist size. The treatment also led to a 23% reduction in ALAT liver enzymes and a 13% reduction in ASAT liver enzymes, proportionate to weight and abdominal fat loss. The conclusion was that fatty acids released from excess fat through the treatment were eliminated from the liver and body as CO2 and H2O rather than being restored in the liver.
