 A qualified Mechanical Engineer with nearly 8 years of professional experience in Plant Layout discipline and
Mechanical component Engineering in Gas & Steam Turbine Power plants (Single shaft, Multi-shaft & Open cycle).

 Delegated for two weeks to Portugal for ‘As-built’ drawing preparation of General Arrangement drawings of entire
plant buildings for the Project- PEGO (750MW PEGO CCGT Project, Portugal).
 Frequent visits to Gujarat for handling issues raised by client and various vendors for the Project-DGEN (1200MW
DGEN Mega Power Project , Dahej, India).
 Attended Project Kick-Off meeting with Client and Consortium partners in Germany for the Project-Egyptian Beni
Suef project (4500MW combined cycle in multi shaft configuration having 8 Gas Turbine and 4 Steam Turbine).
 Key-member of the Software development team, responsible for checking the ‘Functionality’ of any new software.
 Worked with Germans, Vietnamese, Americans, Korean, Egyptian and Indian colleagues.
 Worked with various Consortium Partners like Torrent Power, SKEC, SEPCO, EL Sewedy, Orascom etc…
 Worked with various prominent vendors like KBL, KSB, Minimax, Rotor Engineering, , DVWS etc….

WORK EXPERIENCE
Company: Working from Aug’ 2008 till date in SIEMENS Power Eng. Pvt. Ltd. Gurgaon which is currently merged into
SIEMENS Ltd. India w.e.f. 1st Jan’2013
Position: Senior Mechanical Lead Engineer in Plant Layout discipline.
Responsibilities during Project planning phase:
 Designing of proposals for building layouts including arrangement of piping, cable trays, equipments and civil
structure as per Cost, Safety Codes, Contractual requirements and basic engineering guidelines like P&Id, HBD,
WBD, HVAC, Fire protection concept, Noise Protection Concept & Drainage Concept.
 Ensuring quality of deliverables by considering Siemens guidelines, Process procedure & Project schedule.
 Planning of resources, manpower & duration to meet the schedule for On-time delivery of documents & reports.
 Proper defining of activities of each person with sequence, deadlines and estimated duration.
 Preparation & Coordination of Proposals for discussion with vendor/client/team members.
 Conducting Plant design 3-D reviews to guide other disciplines (civil, piping and electrical).
 Consistent reporting of Project schedule across other disciplines (civil, piping and electrical) highlighting areas of
critical concerns and providing alternative solution.
 Conducting meetings/teleconference to distribute information with clients/team-members/vendors.
 Proper documentation of all the inputs of Equipments as per Siemens milestones (MS1, MS2, M2 and MS3).
 Checking, commenting & 3D-modeling of the Mechanical components (like pumps, heat exchangers, pressure
tanks, vessels, skids, compressors etc…) as per their General Arrangement drawings.
 Preparation of General Arrangement drawings, Maintenance drawings, HVAC drawings and Load Plans of the
building as per Siemens milestone of deliverables (A-date, B-date and C-date).
 Development of ‘Maintenance and Erection concept’ of all the equipments and valves of the entire plant.
 Piping delivered for Water cooling system (PGB/PCB), Plant drainage system (GM system), Compressed air piping
system (SCA/SCB) and Fire-fighting/CO2 piping systems.
Responsibilities during Project execution phase:
 Review and co-ordinate with ‘Project and Deliverable Schedules’ of Piping, civil, electrical & equipment activities
during plant erection phase.
 To check progress of activities and minimize deviation in terms of time and cost.
 Preparation of Room Number sheet & Key-plans.
 Quality assurance of deliverables.
 Trouble shooting and closing of site/client queries during Site execution.
 ‘Lessons learnt report’ to highlight customer concerns, critical issues faced & performance of project team.

Project Handled:
Title: Jang Moon Korean Multi-shaft Project (1823 MW)
Duration: Ongoing (In erection phase)
Responsibility: Working as Lead Plant layout Engineer for the entire plant.
Key Challenges:
 First project done by Siemens-Korea and Siemens-India was the leading team. Hence more coaching and
clarification need to be provided by us to our Korean counterparts.
 First of SGT-8000H (1.4) version of Gas Turbine. It is larger in size.
 Siemens scope is very less. Hence more interfaces and coordination with Client/CP.
Title: EG1018- Beni Suef- Multishaft Project (4800 MW)
Duration: Ongoing (In planning phase)
Responsibility: Working as Lead Plant layout Engineer for the entire plant.
Key Challenges:
 Siemens received three Egyptian projects (Beni Suef, Al Burullus and New Capital). Hence very extensive
coordination needed to maintain synergy among three projects.
 Challenge to follow deliverable schedules and the quality of document with reduced man-hours.
 Egyptian Consortium partners have very limited exposure to Power Plants. Hence all the guidelines and planning
need to be explained with detailed drawings.
 Plotplan optimization considering as there is high differences in site levels.
 Layout optimization of various areas like Fuel Gas Area, Pipe Bridge structure, Feed water pump building etc...
 Maintaining all the layout activities for such a big plant is a challenge.
Title: JAZAN- Saudi Arabia- IGCC PROJECT (4200MW)
Duration: Ongoing (In planning phase by CP)
Responsibility: Working as Lead Plant layout Engineer for the entire plant.
Key Challenges:
 Siemens finished their design. Now contractor has started working. So frequent queries and modifications from
contractor to be answered.
Title: DGEN Mega Power Project , Dahej, Gujarat (1200MW)
Duration: Project Completed
Responsibility: Worked as Lead Plant layout Engineer for BOP buildings likeFire fighting building, Water
treatment building, , Cooling water building, Hazardous waste buildings, Power control areas,
Fuel gas station, Chemical & Dosing buildings and sewerage pits.
Key Challenges:
 Maintaining all the layout activities without any guidance was a challenge for me.
 Handling of such a big Power plant with new 3D software environment (SP3D) is a big challenge.
 Pile failure of Cooling Tower (URA) structure lead to shifting of entire buildings. To meet the schedule with this
major issue was a challenge.
Title: Software Conversion Project of Reference Plant
Duration: Aug 2013 – Oct’ 2013 (Conversion successfully completed)
Responsibility: Heading a team of Four members (each from piping, civil, electrical) to convert various
‘Reference projects (ZGK407, ZGA407, ZGK815, ZGK405, ZGK802 and ZGK031) from different
Software(SP3D, PDS) to PDMS environment.
Key Challenges:
 PDMS was a new software and there was no training conducted for it.
 Integration of various files like (dgn, sat, step etc..) into PDMS was a challenge as the file sizes become heavy.
 Successful conversion of 6 projects in 3 months was a challenge.
Title: NHON TRACH 2 CCPP, Vietnam (750MW)
Duration: Feb’2009 to July2010 (Project completed)
Responsibility: Worked as Plant Layout Engineer under the guidance of Lead Engineer.
Title: 750MW Coal-Fired Power Plant, Lunen (Germany)
Duration: Jan2011 to Dec2013 (Project completed)
Responsibility: Worked as Plant Layout Engineer under the guidance of Lead Engineer.

Key Challenges:  PDMS was a new software and there was no training conducted for it.  Integration of various files like (dgn, sat, step etc..) into PDMS was a challenge as the file sizes become heavy.  Successful conversion of 6 projects in 3 months was a challenge.
