The world's largest hole is located in Russia and is actually a diamond mine 525 meters deep and 1.25 kilometers wide near the town of Mirna in eastern Siberia. The hole has resulted in several helicopter crashes due to the strong suction above it, so flight over the hole is now prohibited.
