1. To Whom It May Concern
It is without hesitation that I recommend Neha Christopher for a dance/movement therapy
position. I served as Neha’s internship supervisor at Kings County Hospital Center for the
2014-2015 school year. Throughout her internship, Neha was punctual, communicative and a
hard worker, never shying away from a difficult task or from learning new material.
Kings County Hospital Center is no easy place to intern. In fact, Neha’s time at KCHC was her
very first introduction to both dance/movement therapy and inpatient psychiatric services.
Difficult staff dynamics, as well as a notoriously difficult-to-reach population, could lead to a
“trial by fire” experience for a new intern; however, Neha handled relationships with staff with
deft and flexibility, and proved herself to be invaluable in developing meaningful rapport with
even the most challenging of patients. The patients grew to trust her (no easy task from an
acutely psychotic individual), and as a result, Neha was able to illicit meaningful creativity
leading to lasting change.
Throughout her internship, Neha was interested in her own process and development as a
therapist. She wasn’t just interested in the “knowing how,” but she was more interested in the
“knowing why.” Her natural curiosity about herself and her own growth as a dance/movement
therapist allowed her to have a full experience at the hospital; she pushed her own boundaries as
a person and a group leader, exploring various interventions and experientials along the way.
Neha Christopher would be an asset to any organization, and they would be lucky to have her.
She is intelligent, curious, and creative, and completes assignments with the utmost aplomb and
integrity. Her innate sense of empathy, sensitivity, and compassion will provide excellent
therapeutic service to any population.
