  2. In this presentation we will look at how to promote a contest, the way to go about it along with cost and time it takes and tips to run your promotion.
  3. Introduction to contest promotion Contest promotion is a unique way to create people’s interest in your website, product or your company. You can create a game or program and offer a reward to your visitors or participants.
  4. Contest execution The first step to a contest promotion campaign is outlining the parameters of the contest. You can ask visitors to sign up or enter their email addresses in order to participate thus creating a database of potential leads. Advertising your contest on other sites by adopting strategies like use of keywords, classified ads will help in popularizing the contest.
  5. Cost and timeframe The only major cost in this campaign is the prize offered. In case you wish to publicize your contest then a nominal cost would add on. The timeframe or the length of the contest really depends on the scale of the contest. Usually it takes a few weeks for spreading of the word about your contest. In most cases a full fledged contest can run from 6 to 8 weeks.
  6. Tactics for an efficient campaign Choose a prize as per the level of the contest, for example a t-shirt as a reward cant be given out in a contest which takes a lot of time and effort. You must mention the rules and requirements of participation clearly. Running referral contests is a great way of advertising your contest where a client gets a reward for every referral that is converted to a sale.
  7. Additional channels Collect a data base of email addresses of those who participate in the contest. You can use this information to start email campaigns and newsletters.
