The passive voice  Manuela Moya
Use of the passive voice.   • The passive voice is used to put in evidence the subject.  • Also used when you want to focus on the action without identifying the person doing it.  •
Form of the passive verb It is a combination of the verb to be in the appropriate time, more   the past participle of the verb that we combine.
Exemples:   1. Present Simple: eat/s ---is/are eaten  2. Past Simple:  3. Present Perfect: eat/s----have/has been eaten.  4. Past Perfect Simple: eat/s----was/were eaten.
Exemple:   1. Future with will: eat/s----- will be eaten.  2. Going to future: eat/s----- am/is/are goingo to beeaten.
The meaning of the active voice and passive voice: The active voice or passive depending on what you want to emphasize is used. a.- If we want to stress is that "I" am not someone who eats the banana, I will use the active voice: I eat a banana. b.- If you want to emphasize is that I'm eating "a banana" and not anything else, I will use the passive voice:      A banana is eaten by me.
5 sentences in the active voice and turn them into passive voice:   1. They paint the house / The house is painted by them.  2. They should have bought the house / The house should have been bought.  3. They are collecting the furniture tomorrow / The furniture is being collected tomorrow  4. He writes a book / A book is writen.  5. I write a letter / A letter by me.
