Tutorial 1:

HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH TRAVEL AGENTS
AND PRESENT YOUR INFTORMATION
PRIOR TO THE SEMINARS

Introduction

ILearnSpain.ca has many options to communicate, and ideally, to share –share pictures,
experiences, and ultimately, knowledge about the tourist industry and specifically,
Spain.

In this tutorial you will see, step by step, how to create content and how to get travel
agents involved in your products.

First of all, in order to create content, and also see some of the restricted content, you
need to sign up. If you have not registered yet, you will not be able to use these tools,
and you will not see some sections of the website, needed to develop the whole
networking experience.

So… sign up or sign in before going through the rest of this tutorial!

Once you have logged in, you will find different boxes with different content on the
home site of ILearnSpain.ca. You can access all content and you can always add more
to share (pictures, videos, blog posts, forum discussions…).
How to communicate with travel agents and present your information prior to the seminars

Networking

ILearnSpain.ca is about networking.
So take your time to look around, search who is already on the platform, and add them
as friends!

You can also send gifts, write on your friend’s walls, post pictures and videos, comment
on others’ pictures and videos…
And, of course, share professional information about your company with travel agents
and other travel industry professionals.

Tools to communicate on ILearnSpain.ca:
blog and forum discussions.

The blog and forum of ILearnSpain.ca are mainly targeted at posting general
information and/or general discussions. You can use them as guidelines to obtain
information, and especially, to network with all the users on this site.

-Blog: probably a good idea if you want to give general information about your
company, or about a specific product. Although you can adjust the privacy settings for
each post, the options are limited, and unless you are already friends with only the
select group of people (travel agents) you are interested in, you might as well share it
with everyone.

- Forum: forum discussions are always open to everyone, so feel free to open one
when you want very diverse opinions from no matter who on the site.


Groups

So probably, the tool that is going to prove more useful to your company is the creation
of groups and closed discussions.

You will be in charge of each group you create, and that means you can control who
has access to the group, and who does not.

Groups will allow you to keep in touch directly with travel agents, get to know them,
and post information about you and your seminar that only they will see.


What can I do with a group?
Only you will have access to the
admin options. Some settings
General info can be changed after the
creation of the group, but others
cannot, so pay attention here!

(only if you want, and they will be
part of the group only after you
have accepted them)

Creating a group

You simply need to go to GROUPS on the menu, and click on the + Add a Group button.
Then, just follow the instructions the website provides.


Settings (I)

Fill in the blank boxes with the Group information: name, description, corporate
website, location. You can also add your logo or any other image.

Do bear in mind:

- Features: you will be able to modify
these settings at any time, but it is
interesting to give as many options of
interaction as possible:
Comments: it allows members to write
on the Group’s wall.
Discussion forum: it allows members to
post and reply to discussion threads.
The text box is an extra piece of general
information that you can modify.


Settings (II)

-Privacy: you will NOT be able to
modify these settings after creating the
group.

If you want your group to be private
(only visible to those you invite) make
sure you choose “Moderated
Membership”. You will then be able to
invite members, and if you allow them,
members will be able to invite more.
Also, check the box “Allow people to
request membership” so everyone
interested can join your network.
However, the final decision of
acceptance will always be yours.

You can change at any time all the settings but the privacy.
Note that here, you can only manage whether “Members can invite other people to
join” and “Allow people to request membership”.


Start networking!

Now you have created your Group,
invite all your travel agent friends,
and start posting all comments and
discussions you feel will be of
interest.

We cannot tell you what to post, this
is your site: feel free!!

You might find it useful to give details
about your products, or to give a
sneak peak of your webinar, or even
just ask them their opinions about
your company…
You can also attach files (powerpoint,
pdf, word…) every time you start a
discussion.
