Welcome to our 10 minute webinar format we call Sip n’ learn. It’s designed to be fast, informative, and fit within your coffee break.Today we are going to talk about how online video marketing can be used to increase your sales. During the presentation if you have any questions just type them in. First let me explain what we do at OverGo Studio. At OverGo Studio we provide video and social media marketing services. We increase traffic to our clients’ websites and increase their leads and sales. This is also known as inbound marketing. The bottom line is that we help businesses get found and get leads. We provide these inbound marketing services for businesses of all sizes. However, the majority of our clients are small to mid-size businesses in the B2B world.Ok – enough with the shameless self-promotion – let’s get on with the webinar.

Here are some online video industry stats. I will show you some real world examples that support this research.
Here is a company that launched a rather complex technology product for the restaurant industry. They had a video on their website explaining the main features and benefits. And although their was great interest in this particular product this company’s sales team was having difficulty explaining all of the nuances of the benefits. It was taking weeks of conversations just to get the prospect qualified. Meaning it could take many conversations over several weeks just to get the prospect to say no thanks.So we created a webvideo answering the most common questions prospects had, kind of a software demo with a voice over doing the sales talk. Their sales team then emailed this video to interested prospects and followed up with a phone call.What happened is that the sales cycle was shortened from weeks and multiple conversations to one single conversation. The moral of the story is product demo videos can be a very effective tool for your sales team.
These types of videos can be delivered to your prospects via e-mail and can also reside on your website.
The next benefit I want to cover is how video marketing can increase your lead conversion. As business owners we all have prospects. So how do we make sure that our story is being told consistently and convincingly?Well one way is video
Video is the most effective way to tell a story and evoke emotion outside of doing it yourself in person. As sales people we can’t be available all the time - but video can. Whether it is a video e-mail, video brochure, or video on our website, it’s there for prospects whenever they are ready to hear your message.
Back to the story of the company selling into the restaurant industry. Once they replaced the original feature/benefit video on their website with their new optimized video they immediately tripled their leads.
Analytics and interactivity was the secret ingredient to increasing their lead conversions.By studying how viewers where watching their video we were able to make adjustments and add interactivity to increase viewer engagement and ultimately improve lead conversions.
The new optimized video had a greater than 50% completion rate versus the prior version which only had a 25% completion rate. 50% is a very completion rate for this type of video. One of the keys to getting high completion rates is keeping conversion videos short. In this example we tightened up the message and went from 2:40 to 1:10. Stay as close to a minute as you can with these types of videos.
Once we improved the video - the lead conversions also jumped from 30 per month to 90 per month and then over 120 per month after the second round of optimizing. The moral is that video is a great way to tell your story, but make sure you are running on a platform that has good viewer analytics and be ready to make changes to optimize and improve your viewer conversions.
That brings us to our third benefit of online video - and that is - driving more traffic to your website.The conversation in the online video world used to be how do we optimize our videos so they get listed on the search engines. Well that conversation is almost moot now. As of today YouTube is the worlds 2nd largest search engine next to Google. So it is much simpler now... just put your video on YouTube. Not only will the search engines pick it up, and I will show you some examples of that, but people will find you on YouTube and if your content is relevant bloggers and other social media types will embed your video into their sites giving you even more exposure.
Let me show you a real example of the power of YouTube for driving traffic to your website. Here is a video client of ours. Prior to us creating a video for this company they were not be found anywhere on a Google search for their primary keyword – which is “laboratory billing services” Just two weeks after we launched their YouTube Channel their video appeared on the first page of Google and held the #4 and #6 organic positions for their primary keyword. And this is in a very competitive industry. The moral of the story here is start making videos and upload them to YouTube or hire a firm to do it for you.
