6. Why use YouTube to promote
your business, over posting
videos in Facebook, Vimeo,
etc?
Why YouTube?
7. Hector doesn’t explicitly exclude the
other venues for posting videos; but
he focuses on YouTube because of its
high visibility in Google search results.
Why YouTube?
8. If you search for “QuickBooks Online
Tutorial” you will find at least 1 video from
YouTube on the first page of search results.
If you click on the VIDEOS tab at the top of
the screen, it will deliver even more YouTube
videos.
Why YouTube?
9. Bottom line, YouTube is the
most effective if you want to
be found in search, given that
most people start in Google.
Why YouTube?
10. Hector says “Facebook is the next
frontier for me…YouTube was
better to build my network first,
then move to Facebook second…”
Why YouTube?
12. Building Your YouTube Network
There are two reasons why
you want to build a network
of viewers for your videos.
13. Building Your YouTube Network
First, if you gain subscribers to your
Channel, this will send them a weekly digest
of new videos you posted, the videos will
also show in their activity feed when they
login to YouTube using a Gmail account.
This increases your chances of getting views.
14. Building Your YouTube Network
Also, loyal viewers tend to share the
videos by adding them to their
channel or adding them to their
favorites (which increases your
visibility). It’s the multiplying effect of
social media.
16. Make videos about highly searched topics.
For example: if you go to YouTube and start
typing “QuickBooks” you will see that the
autocomplete will suggest “quickbooks
online 2015 tutorial for beginners.” So
assuming this is your target market (beginner
QBO users) then Hector would suggest
making videos about that very topic.
17. Make videos about highly searched topics.
By choosing a highly searched title, you’ll be
competing against videos that are already
very popular. Make sure to produce a high
quality video that will immediately get LIKES
and COMMENTS. Otherwise it may get
buried under the ones already there.
18. Make videos about highly searched topics.
You can use Google Trends to search for a
keyword of whatever you want to make a
video about. Again if you use the example of
“QuickBooks” in a search for trends you will
find the top phrase searched is “QuickBooks
Tutorial” so Hector would suggest using that
phrase in your title and description.
19. Make videos about highly searched topics.
Another tool you can use is the
Keyword Tool IO. It has a paid
subscription version, but the free
version gives you the top searched
words (without the volume amount).
20. Make videos about highly searched topics.
Lastly, you can use Google Adwords
to promote your videos by paying
“per click” based on the use of
certain keywords. Ads will show on
Google as well as YouTube searches.
22. Apply it to your business.
A l t h o u g h H e c t o r w a s s p e a k i n g
specifically about his own area of
expertise, there is such a broad audience
on YouTube that you can apply these
ideas to virtually any business.
23. Apply it to your business.
Find your unique niche, and
put YouTube to work for you.
