1. Discussion
The patient is independent, can take care of himself and go out, and therefore
is not in the SEVERE DISABILITY category. He says he is unable to work and
therefore rates as MODERATE DISABILITY.
C. Upper Moderate:
Work capacity: Reduced
Social activities: Resumed less than half as often as pre-injury
Disruption or Strain: Frequent (once a week or more but tolerable)
D. Lower Moderate:
Work capacity: Unable to work or only able to work in sheltered workshop
Social activities: Unable or rarely to participate
Disruption or Strain: Constant (daily and intolerable)
The fact that he cannot work at all, even though his social activity is close to
before the injury, puts him in LOWER MODERATE

2. Additional comment
Actually, in this case it would be a good idea to go
into some more depth on the ability to work as there
seems to be a discrepancy between the occupational
status and the rest of the picture.
Does the patient feel he is unable to work?
Would he be able to work at a reduced rate if offered?
Would he perhaps be able to work full time, but are
there other reasons unrelated to brain injury
preventing him from doing so?
