Definition of Diabetes:
Elevated Sugar in the Blood
Complications:
peripheral neuropathies, kidney failure, ulcers
that won't heal, high blood pressure,
blindness & more.

3 Types of Diabetes:
Type I:
● Infection of the pancreas
→stops/reduces insulin production
● Occurs more often in children or younger
adults
● Less common
● Less to do with diet, dehydration, & lifestyle

● Usually Occurs in Adults & often later in life
● Insulin Resistance & Metabolic Syndrome
● More to do with: diet (mineral deficiencies
& overeating on carbohydrates),
