Introduction
The first question you may ask is "What is the
Golden Reel?" The Golden Reel represents a
business's successful inbound marketing campaign.
It represents a campaign that is continuously pulling
in new qualified prospects. Through much time and
experience I have learned that there are many
different methods of inbound marketing. With the
upgrades in society today and the usage of cell
phones, computers, and more our technological
limitations have decreased. With this in mind
numerous doors have been opened for inbound
marketing activities. In this E-book we will identify
and discuss the top 10 activities to form the Golden
Reel which will have client’s continually flowing
through your sales funnel.
1. Putting Time Aside To Blog
Blogging is by far one of the most affordable and
easy ways to share your expertise with your potential
clients and customers. It literally doesn't matter what
industry you are in, every industry can have some
type of blog written for it whether it's a local bakery
or bike shop.
Popular Blog Platforms:
Blogger - This is a free weblog publishing tool from
Google.
Tumblr - This is a blog that's almost a hybrid
between twitter and a full fledge blog site.
WordPress - This is a popular open source blogging
platform
The surprising truth about blogging is that there are
so many entrepreneurs out there that aren't
capitalizing on this grand opportunity. Believe it or
not statistics show that 61% of U.S. customers have
made a purchase based on a blog. These statics
amplify the reality of the situation "We can't afford
to not blog".
2. Posting Updates On Social Media
It would be a huge mistake not to list social media as
an essential component of the golden reel. If there
was any thought as to what part of the reel this
would be it could possibly be the fishing line itself.
Social Media plays a key role in Inbound Marketing.
The fishing line on the fishing rod is one of the most
vital assets while fishing, because once the string
pops or gives way the whole fishing process is
halted and deceased.
You can't catch any fish without a line on your reel.
Today social media is quite as vital as the fishing
line. With the increase in engagement on social
media by billions of people it's quite safe to say if
you're a business owner and not on social media you
are missing out on a lot of potential growth and
expansion opportunities.

There is heavy debate as to how often you should
update your social media accounts to keep them
current, but the average is about 3-5 times a day.
Some accounts such as Twitter can be a bit higher
but with 3-5 updates on each site it should suffice.

There is no way for me to talk about infographics
without bringing up the platform Pinterest. There are
literally millions of infographics streamed all over
Pinterest everyday as it is the hub for graphic
information. The truth is people love to gain new
information, but the problem is the method to gain it.
With most of us either super busy or super lazy we
don’t want to take hours to learn one thing. So this is
where infographics come in. The goal is for them to
provide a ton of information while being a visual
magnet. This is key to reeling in customers also
because with providing info graphics you exhibit
your expertise while helping someone. Try out one
of these platforms to start reaching new potential
clients with your infographics.

4. Podcasts
Seemingly everyone at some point or another has
listened to some form of a podcast. Whether it was
via Itunes, Audible, or even Youtube. PodCast

file or recording, usually part of a themed series, that
can be downloaded from a website to a media player
or computer. Now in 2016 you can even stream
podcast from your phone and cloud devices. Podcast
can literally be the bait of the line for your reel.
Podcast when entertaining and informative can draw
in a large crowd over time.

It would be foolish not to add Email marketing to

activities. Email marketing may very well be one of
the most long lasting effective tactics in regards to
withstanding the test of time.
Email marketing has outlived Myspace, Hi5, and
numerous other platforms for inbound marketing.
The truth is that if Facebook gets shut down today
chances are that you still would have your email
address.
I hear many different questions as to how many
times should you send an email newsletter to clients.
My recommendation would be once per week and 2
or 3 at most. If you send too many emails it won’t be
long until more of your subscribers hit the dreaded
unsubscribe button.

admit this does sound like an amazing opportunity
especially if the issue is popular at that particular
time.
The best way to do this is by creating an PDF and
definitely conducting tons of research to give an
effective solution to the issue.

YouTube is is arguably the most popular video
sharing website. You can be right at home in your
room and turn your phone camera on and record
directly to YouTube. This opportunity is so great
especially with society’s attraction to videos more
than plain written content. You can post video blogs,
promote your products, you can literally try tons of
methods via video to gain new customers. Grab the
rod and cast the line out and with YouTube you will
catch some new customers over time.
9. Case Studies / Testimonials
Word of mouth is one of the most effective
marketing strategies but another effective strategy is
“Seeing Is Believing.”
A case study literally allows a potential customer to
“see” a real case that your company has dealt with
and conquered.
If no other method works for you like expected this
one especially will. People rely heavily on the
opinions of others. Henceforth the reason we look at
reviews on products before we buy them (especially
on amazon). A case study plainly lets the client see
that you can handle an circumstance just like theirs
and be successful.
Some won’t have it saying case study, but they
might have it in the form of a testimonials. Case
Studies and Testimonials are very effective at
establishing your credibility.
10. Question and Answer Articles (Quora – Yahoo
Answers)
All day long people are posting questions and
inquiring on numerous forums all over the web.
Yahoo Answers & Quora are two huge spots where
there can be many questions posted in your industry.
The goal is to get involved in the questions and offer
advice and tips to people with questions in your
industry.
This again helps establish you as expert in your
field. This is another way to drop the bait right in
front of hungry prospects.
The Quora age has come and taken over so I highly
recommend you get involved with answering
questions in your industry in Quora.
