1. BLACK DICE: THE NEW MAYFAIR BAR
ROCKING LONDON’S
DRINKS SCENE

Launched in Mayfair at the end of March, Black Dice is a refined cocktail bar inspired by
enigmatic figures of the 1960’s and their outlandish Rock‘n’Roll lifestyles. Looking to recreate
a rock star’s living room and bring in elements of subsequent cultural movements, the lavish
and relaxed surroundings of Black Dice play host to a finely crafted array of cocktails and an
authentic and original music programme.
Behind the pink door beneath Momo restaurant, Black Dice is tucked away from bustling
Regents Street on Heddon Street and serves modern-era twists on all-time classic cocktails.
Taking inspiration from all genres and emotions of musical culture, from the late 60's to
present day, the bar’s design is a nod to rock icons throughout the years such as Rod Stuart,
The Clash, The Rolling Stones and Steven Tyler. The walls are adorned with rock’n’roll
memorabilia and lavish peacock feather and leopard print fabrics, with the space dominated
by a mirrored copper bar and glittered ceiling.
2. The cocktail menu has been devised by drinks masterminds Joe Stokoe and Liam Cotter of
consultancy Heads, Hearts & Tails, and showcases a selection of vintage, draft and artisanal
cocktails. Served up by head bartender Ben Clarren, the menu features a range of original
serves including the charred pineapple-topped, rye-based Black Flag, the Frankinsence-
infused Frank Zacapa, finished with smoke, as well as inventive twists on classics, such as a
Rhubard & Ginger Negroni and distinctive Inked Daquiri.
Black Dice is a partnership between two dynamic forces behind some of the most renowned
venues in London: Piers Walker and Mourad Mazouz. Former London Restaurant Award
winner Mourad Mazouz is the creative mind behind Mayfair’s iconic design-led Sketch, and
founder of legendary neighbouring restaurant Momo. He has worked on the project along with
Piers Walker, who recently launched The Mondrian Hotel’s bars and restaurants with the
Morgans Hotel Group following his work on the new West London Hangout West Thirty Six
and launch of The Scotch of St James.
Officially opened from the end of March 2015, Black Dice offers an eclectic and vibrant
destination cocktail bar and lounge in Mayfair to see in a fresh Rock’n’Roll look to West
London.

3. About Piers Walker
Before creating and launching Black Dice, Piers Walker positioned and launched The Scotch
of St James in 2012. He later worked with the Morgans Hotel Group as Regional Director of
Marketing, covering 3 London based hotels, Sanderson, St Martins Lane and the launch of
Mondrian London in 2014. Most recently, he successfully positioned and launched West
London’s West Thirty Six, in January 2015.
About Mourad Mazouz
Restaurateur and author Mourad Mazouz opened his first bistro Au Bascou in Paris in 1988.
Since then, he has launched the 404 restaurant in Paris and the phenomenally successful
Momo Restaurant Familial in London in 1997, which won the Evening Standard ‘Bar of the
Year’ award in its first year of trading. In 2002 Mourad opened his most visionary project to
date, Sketch, with three Michelin starred chef Pierre Gagnaire. A tribute to superb gastronomy
and cutting edge art, Sketch is now a London institution having won a host of major awards
including its first Michelin star in 2005.
About Heads, Hearts & Tails
Heads, Hearts & Tails is a London based event management company and drinks
consultancy, formed in early 2012. The group has built a strong portfolio of clients that ranges
from independent bars, to hotel groups and to creative agencies. In addition, HHT works
regularly with many international drinks brands, Bacardi-Martini, First Drinks and Moët
Hennessy. Founder Joe Stokoe, an internationally recognized, award winning bartender, has
worked in hospitality since 1998. He has overseen the bars and drinks menus at some of
London’s most well-regarded venues.
