As a Christian believer, one will often suffer times of discouragement and frustration. However, giving up is NOT an option! Continue in the things of God, and a reward is on the way!

2. What does it mean to be weary? Physically, mentally (or spiritually) fatigued Having one’s interest, forbearance or indulgence worn out; lacking motivation Causing one fatigue; tiresome To become discouraged; disheartened Galatians 6:9 (2 Thessalonians 3:13) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

The Tenacity of An Athlete Personal falls and mistakes do not altar the goal The failures of others do not discourage one from continuing The motivation to move forward is not superficial Successful athletes ENJOY their talents and activities The first motive is personal enjoyment rather than appreciation from others

The Causes of Weariness Getting caught up in the natural, while neglecting the spiritual Losing touch with your “first love” Looking at the outward appearance of others; comparing ourselves to others Self-consciousness (selfishness and pride) Habakkuk 2:13 Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?

Consider CHRIST Hebrews 12:1-4 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Overcoming Weariness Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

7. Bouncing Back from Weariness Keep your eyes on the VISION Keep your personal relationship with God strong Fellowship with those that will push and encourage you Continuously seek God for wisdom and instruction Remember that NUMBERS are not everything

Prophesy to the Weary Isaiah 50:4-7 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. Jeremiah 31:25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.
