2. 1. Templates with embedded YouTube videos. Selected video templates in the template library can now also link to YouTube videos. YouTube enabled templates are identified with a label, as you can see on the example to the left. To add a YouTube video to a template, select the template and add the link to the YouTube video on the scene edit screen as shown below.
3. 2. Background images added to specific scenes and levels. Preview of the course with the background image. In addition to adding a background image to the course window, you can now also set up different backgrounds for individual levels or entire scenes.These new background settings can be found in the new Advanced Options area while editing a scene or level.To the right are sample screenshots from a course with a background images. 4. 3. Course preview with preloaded scenes. To avoid long pauses during course navigation, when the student opens a course all screens are preloaded.When previewing a screen, the following scenes are preloaded,limiting the display of the loading status bar.This new feature will be implemented in the container of the course and therefore does not need to be configured by the user.
5. 4. Links to course attachments embedded in the text. It is now possible to link course attachments to text on a scene.To use this feature, first add an attachment to your course. (If there are no attachments, this option will not be available.)Then, select the word or expression you want to be linked and click the "Insert Link" button of the text editor.Select the attachment and click OK.
6. 5. Automatic identification of image and animation sizes. When adding new media to QuickLessons, you no longer need to insert the width and height information.The system will automatically detect the data and archive the media file accordingly.NOTE: individual templates always provide size recommendation. Add media files that meet the indicated sizes.
7. 6. Identification of Learning Objects on the course tree. Learning Objects added to courses are now identified by a lighter grayscale color and a special icon on the course tree.If a change is made to a Learning Object inside a course, the content from the Learning Object on the course tree will revert to regular color. Any change to a Learning Object will be preceded by a warning system messages.Learning Object content modified within a course is not linked to the original published Learning Objects.
8. 7. Labeling of course tree elements. Scenes can now be renamed by users.Just double click (with a slight pause between clicks) on the scene on the course tree. Its name becomes editable and you can make your changes.If you remove the name of the scene, it returns to the original default name based on the order in which it was originally added to the course.The same goes for levels, games, exercises and other elements of the course tree.
9. 8. Scene alerts. In the Style of course, there is a new feature on the Extra Resources step to enable the “Alert System” that manages special messages associated with individual scenes.With this new functionality you can create a customized pop-up with extra content (image, text, animation, and soon, video) to be displayed for each scene.After selecting this option and choosing an alert model, go to the Advanced Options on the scene edit page and add the content of your scene pop-up. The frames that support this new functionality are identified with a tag, as in the screenshot to the left. The Alerts button will indicate if an alert is available for a specific scene.
10. 9. Course level preview. Besides previewing scenes and whole courses, users can now preview a course level.
11. 10. GUI in Russian. In addition to English, Spanish and Portuguese, our interface is now also available in Russian. To change your language, go to My Profile and edit your options.
12. 11. Validation of the zip package structure when importing PPT files. The correct way to create a ZIP package to import PPT is to select the files and compress them without putting them into folders. PowerPoint and videos must be compressed on the same level.To help our users prepare a proper ZIP package, QuickLessons validates the package to assess if it is in the proper format.
13. 12. Automatic preview of line spacing and justified alignment for scene text. For easier text formatting for the Style of courses, we added a window with automatic text preview.
