Denmark is a three-part autonomous community consisting of Denmark itself and two territories. It has been a constitutional monarchy since 1849 and a parliamentary monarchy since 1901, making its monarchy one of the oldest in the world. The Danish flag originated from a legend about falling from heaven during a battle in Estonia. Copenhagen has been the capital of Denmark since the early 15th century and contains landmarks like the Little Mermaid statue and Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish royal family.

monarchy that had ruled the country since
1660, and became a parliamentary monarchy in
1901. In terms of permanence, the Danish
monarchy can be considered the oldest in the
world, it has existed for at least a millennium.
Denmark is part of the European Union (but
does not use the euro).
3. FLAG
● The Danish flag appears the representation of a
red flag with a white cross between the royal
arms of King Valdemar IV Atterdag. According
to a legend told in the Danish chronicle of
Christiern Pedersen 1520 and according to the
Franciscan Peder Olsen, in 1527, Dannebrog
fell from heaven during a battle in Estonia.
4. SHIELD
● In the shield of Denmark there are three intern
lions, supported on three legs and lifted the
front right, azure (heraldic blue) that are located
in a golden field (a background heraldic yellow)
adorned with nine heart gules (red heraldic).
5. THE CAPITAL OF DENMARK
● Copenhage is the capital of Denmark. Originally a fishing
village viking founded in the tenth century, Copenhagen
became the capital of Denmark in the early fifteenth
century. During the seventeenth century, under the reign of
Christian IV, it became an important regional center,
consolidating its position as the capital of Denmark and
Norway with its institutions, defense, and military.
6. MONUMENTS OF COPENHAGEN
● The Little Mermaid of Copehange is a sculpture
of a mermaid bronze, located in the city of
Copenhagen.
7. ● It is a great source located at one end of the
harbor of Copenhagen, Denmark, very close to
the famous Little Mermaid statue.

8. Amalienborg Palace
● It is the residence of the Danish royal family in
Copenhagen. It consists of four buildings in
rococo style, by architect N. Eigtved between
1750 and 1768
