National Priorities for BMDS
• Strengthen Homeland Defense
- Deploy 14 additional Ground Based Interceptors at Fort Greely, Alaska by 2017
- Deploy an additional AN/TPY-2 Radar in Japan
- Pursue Discrimination Improvements for Homeland Defense including
– Develop and deploy a Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR)
– Near-term and mid-term discrimination initiatives
- Redesign the GBI EKV to improve reliability
- Conduct Environmental Impact Statement for a potential additional GBI site in the U.S.
- Pursue Science & Technology efforts to keep pace with threat
• Maintain Regional Defense Commitments
- Continue with deployment of Phases II & III of the European Phased Adaptive Approach
- Continue procurement of SM-3 Block IB missiles and THAAD interceptors
• Build Partner Capacity
- Execute current FMS case
