‘Apple Already at Work on iPhone 6’
Here, we have an article regarding the speculation
behind the iPhone 6, six weeks after the release of the
iPhone 5s.
The intended audience for this article is clearly
technology and iPhone fans which is always a huge
audience to be aiming for as they always want to be up
to date with the latest gadgets.
The audience would love the speculation of a new
iPhone being launched which could potentially reel in a
lot of interest.
However, in terms of popularity the article doesn’t seem
to have gathered too much interest due to its lack in
shares via social media sites with only 17 tweets and six
Facebook shares.

‘Google Pre-Paid Card’
The Article I am looking at the new Google pre-paid
card for the Wallet app on smart phones. This article
came out on the Mobile marketing website.
The article is about how the Mobile card is used and
some of the drawbacks of the card so far. It is the latest
innovation from Google so of course it is interesting to
read about.
The intended audiences are people with smartphones
and who are eligible for a debit or credit card. A
predicted market they have gone for would be 25-40
years. This article is interesting because it is an insight
into the future technology of card payment. There has
only been one tweet on Twitter about it so it is not a
hugely popular story on social media.
4. Near Field Communication
NFC stands for Near Field Communication. NFC is a communication
technology between devices in specific our computers to a payment. The
way NFC works is it communicates to our bank account from the device and
allows us to make payments.
This is a short-range method of a payment which is
a low power wireless link evolved from radiofrequency identification (RFID). Companies have
started to use this technology such as Starbucks.
Samsung has started to include this technology in
their mobile devices.
From Samsung inserting this technology into their
devices other companies have started adding this
into their phones like Nokia. Apple on the other
hand does not think this will be successful so they
are designing a completely new service called
Ibeacon.
5. Shazam
Shazam is a clever smartphone app that listens and recognises songs that are being
played around you.
Like the song being played on the radio? Can’t
quite remember the name of a song?
Users can simply ‘Shazam’ the track and the song
will be recorded and quickly matched up. This will
then give you the option to purchase the track,
making it an ideal tool for them to sell music
through the free app. Users can then also save
their favourite tracks, watch the music videos on
YouTube, share the track with their friends and
more!
The clear interface and simple concept of pressing
a button to ‘Shazam’ the track makes app very
ideal and practical for its purpose.
6. Snapchat
Snap chat is an application available on all smartphones that enables the users to
send images or videos across to each other and add captions and drawings on top of
the images. It has been hugely successful in social media because of mainly the pace
you can send and receive images from a wide range of contacts and choose where
the images are going.
Snapchat is good for a more detailed
conversation, when you are in the middle of
texting and you see something interesting you
can send an image of the thing to a friend.
Some of the bad things about this app are that
the snaps are that they fade away after a certain
amount of time. Snap chat stories have been
made so that you can have longer threads of
images and videos to make a story of a journey or
something you have done recently.
7. Fruit Ninja
Fruit ninja is paid application on all smart phones with
a free version with some of the extras excluded from
the app. The app is a competitive game where the
player slices through fruit and avoids bombs to collect
a higher score and unlock other blades and
backgrounds.
It is good because it’s fun to do when you’re bored
and feeling competitive against friends. There has
been an app released recently that groups Fruit Ninja
and Skittles together in an attempt to make Skittles
more popular and this has successfully created a buzz
about the confectionary.
