Roles and Responsibilities:
Monitoring all site construction and inspection work when required or instructed by the
Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) .
Working with the REs, AREs and Senior Civil Tunnel Engineers when dealing with the
contractors regarding project activities such as the construction, installation,
maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with
specifications, codes, and clients requirements.
Reviewing operational process and installations to ensure that the subcontractors
comply with the design, standards and specifications of the contract documents.
Monitoring that works are Completed in accordance with the Method Statement.
Ensure works follow the approved drawing and specifications pertaining to quality &
safety.
Construction of jet grout envelopes to facilitate Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM)
launching and receiving.
Monitoring of various TBM parameters such as TBM navigation, earth pressure, thrust
force and penetration rate, grout pressure and volume, Ring selection and installation.
2. Conducting tests for conditioning polymer and foam, Plasticizers and accelerator to be
used in Tunneling.
Follow up on material testing, ensure test reports are verified to meet the requirement of
the specification, and carry out analysis of results.
Maintaining shift reports, TBM operation records, ring plane check and grouting reports
etc.
Preparation of Tunneling Ring Sequencing for both twin tunnel drives of the project.
Construction of Secant Piles (monitoring of drilling, checking of diameter and length of
pile, location of pile toe level, level of top casing, reinforcement cage and details as per
design drawing).
Construction of stone column to mitigate the risk of soil liquefaction at ramp section.
Ensure preparing and maintaining records for material reconciliation.
Site layout planner and execution-Shaft Excavation work, TBM initial & Main drives
setup, Gantry setup for Initial drive, Plant set-up, Muck pits, stack yard DG station,
store and offices.
Ensuring the subcontractors comply with operational and safety standards.
Assisting to identify, respond to or evaluate field construction technical issues to
maintain the schedule.
Assisting in compiling Bill of Quantity (BOQ) reports for monthly pay estimates.
Verifying field measurements.

To prepare and maintain project documentation including daily/weekly progress reports,
materials accounting records, lab test results and track and record non conformance

compliance with approved submittals.
To review operational process and installations to ensure that the contractor comply
with the design, standards, and specifications of the contract documents.
5. Report questionable methods of operation by the contractor to the contractor to the
concerned engineer and process the request to check work forms and maintain record of
their status.
To measure conformance to project plans and specifications, health and safety
regulations, and environmental compliance.
Coordinate with the material engineer and arrange for sampling and testing of
satisfactorily completed work, and quality assurance testing of suspected materials.
Field control and supervise site activities.
Working with a team of highly skilled mechanists, fitters & rigors to check and repair
any problem that come across during the mining process (man power resource
management).
