My questions at BCQC.

1. X is a novel by a Nobel prize winning author. It is loosely based on the real story of the author’s own parents, where his father wanted to marry his mother but his mother’s family did not initially allow it. The author has a more famous earlier novel. This one was published after he won the Nobel.

9. A slightly unusual name given to something much anticipated. A Latin dictionary explains that “____" means "disambiguous" and “______" has been used to describe a family of hoverfly insects. This is the 5th and probably the last if the one of the makers is to be believed.

10. Author of a classic. The Queen read his book and liked it so much that she asked him to send his next published work to her. When he sent her his next book, she was surprised as it was nothing like his previous book and became displeased with the author.

15. This doyen of literature was extremely influential in the region where he hails from. He adopted a pen name, later on his legal name, where the last name was of his favorite poet. He always wrote in green ink which he thought was the colour of hope.

16. Who are the guitarist and the bass player respectively of the band “Big Bad Dread and The Bald Head” ?

17. Arthur C. Clarke about a book “This is unique among science fiction novels. The only work which I think compares to this is Lord of The Rings.” The book later spawned sequels due to its popularity, some co-written by the author’s son and Kevin J. Anderson.

First intended to be in only one but now part of seventeen novels, all taking place in the same city. A surname which has a strong relation to something seen in quizzes.

24. X and Y had a fight when they met on the street. X, who had a razor blade with him panicked and ran into a hotel nearby. There he did something which he is very famous for. He gave a prostitute called Rachel something borne out of his actions and asked her to “keep this object carefully”. Who are X and Y and what did X do?
