A recentOfsted report published on the 10th March 2015 highlighted how inspections which were carried out over 5000
children’s home across 43 different councils were found to be “inadequate” or “required improvements”.
Over recent years there has been an increase in the need for referrals to Children’s Social Care Services.
Children and young people are often found to have been waiting for long periods to receive the help or support required in
order to help them escape difficult situations that can lead to long term damaging effects on them.
Even thoughnew reforms were introduced during November 2013 only 10 Local Authorities were deemed to be “good”
under the new framework. Many Social Services were found to be unequipped to provide responsive services that meet
the needs of vulnerable children and young people. The same report showed that the average age of a child in a foster
home is 14 years old. Many of the children who have troubling needs are unable to make a difference in their lives due to
Social Services being unable to provide an adequate service.
If you or someone you know may be at risk of having their children removed by the Local Authority, please contact one of
our specialist WTBChild Care solicitors. Who are experienced specialists in this field of law and will be happy to assist you,
Please call 0161 224 3311.
