Wednesday, December 29, 2010
Introduction INTRODUCTION
by Bob Busch, Chairman of the Strategic BOB BUSCH
Planning Committee
Welcome. My name is Bob Busch. I am one
of your Board members and, together with
Beth Moise and Phil George, we have formed
the Strategic Planning Committee. But,
truthfully, the Strategic Planning Committee
is the entire Board. Everyone works on this.
Your Board has spent untold hours on this
and, as you will see, there has been a
tremendous amount of work done on your
behalf.
Now let’s take a look a the Agenda and I will,
very quickly explain what you are going to
see this afternoon
(next slide)
4. AGENDA
Opening Comments - Bob Busch
Strategic Vision - Bob Bodman
Strategic Plan Process
Bob Bodman is an expert in the field of
Club Strategic Planning. He is a Principal in Discovery Results
the the nationally recognized firm of Club
Resources and Bob has been assisting us
throughout this process of working on a
Board Retreat Overview
Strategic Plan for Las Campanas.
Strategic Vision: “Pathway to 1200”
Why do we need a Consultant?
Despite the fact that we have a good Board
and that many of us have a lot of experience
Club Operations Status Report - Jim Muldowney
in many things, none of us have any
experience in doing this -- Strategic
Planning for Club Communities. Bob has Water Update & Plan - Phil George
done this for decades, but beyond that has a
wealth of knowledge about what others
have done. We are not the only people who
have ever gone through this process. Bob Member Q & A
has brought to this a structural knowledge
that many others have had to go through.
The vision and all the work done here will
be covered by Bob

spend the most time on, is about what the
members want the club to be and how we tried
to learn about that. The second part (the Progress Report
Retreat and the product that came out of it) is Member Feedback
a how we tried to analyze and understand all
that.
PATHWAY TO 1200
Where are we today? We are in the Committee
and Staff Workshop phase and this Progress
Report and the initial draft of the “Pathway to
