great colour to use

as it stands out a lot.
The title is on the
background and is in a gap
so it is clear to see and is
presented so it is the main
thing to see. ( if you
couldn’t see the title you
wouldn’t know what
magazine you were going
to buy).
Orange and white colours are
used to continue the house
style which allows the front
cover have a consistent theme
throughout – if there was a lot
of different colours it would
look like a mess of colour and
wouldn’t seem like any of it
connects/links in any way.

Different size fonts keep
the front cover interesting
and different as not
everything is the same
colour and it is a treat for
the eyes as looking at
different things is really

because as it is a long shot you get the full group in and
it looks quite relaxed and more of a classic pose
The age group for this would be 30+, this is because it has more of an adult
theme as there aren’t bright colours and its quite relaxed and dulled back
on the colour scheme.

most of the KERRANG!
magazines. The breaking glass
connotes that the sound from
the music magazine is breaking
the title.

because it’s a medium close up and the
intensity of the gaze may attract the
female audience more.
KERRANG! has been said to be aimed at
a more male gender group due to the
fact it Is a rock magazine, however, the
pictures that have been taken and the
posters that are free within the
magazine suggest that that they are
trying to persuade and appeal to a lot
more people so more people will buy
the magazine.
The small pictures of the band
members show some
importance but not a lot as
they are to show what is going
to be in the magazine and who
is in it but they aren’t as big as
the main picture Jared – This
shows Jared is the main

the text which gives a feel
of ‘3D’. This is down to the
positioning of the banners
and pictures and texts on
front, to the side and

shows what is ‘hot’ and what is fresh
within the magazine.
The 30 Seconds To Mars
logo draws in readers as it
shows it is the real logo
and it is the real band /
artists from the band in
this magazine. Using a
band names and ‘logo’ if
they have them is vital
when trying to appeal and
present them to potential
readers.

is white and is hard to see
on this white document, it
connotes that there is
taste and elegance within
this magazine. I got this
impression by how clear
and crisp the font and
house style is and how
reliable it is all over the
front cover.
The small images show a
sample of what is in store
within the magazine.
The variation in fonts : There
are over 11 different fonts
and styles on this page. This
keeps it interesting and
unique as it doesn’t bore
you., if I was looking at one
font for a long time without
looking at colours in a
magazine - even though its
classical and not everyone
likes classical, I would get very
bored.
There is an attractive female on the front, most of the
concentration is on her and her frame – Medium shot. She is
wearing very revealing clothes which appeals to a lot of the
readers.
Appeals to the men as she
looks elegant, beautiful and
is caressing a lovely
instrument unlike a heavy
guitar like most generic rock
magazines. This could be a
possible factor to make men
to buy this issue as it is a
very feminine cover, the
instrument and the women
is very feminine.
Females may be drawn to buy
this ( if they are interested in
classical music) due to the fact
that they may want to be like
her. She is sexually appealing
and being on the front
cover, looking beautiful and
pure (the background white
connotes for purity) women
may have a desire to want to
be her. This has often been
found in more beauty related
magazines and fashion
magazines like Vogue.The bar code is a generic characteristic of a
magazine.

looking front cover. They are
all natural looking colours.
Like honey and cinnamon
which represent things
sweet and warm.
The house style seems
consistent. It revolves
around nutty orangey
colours which are combined
with a light red colour.
The orange allows the white to
stand out on this banner and
because it is at the top it will get
noticed and the banner allows
people to know about more
features within the magazine.
- You look up into the
violin and straight at
him, the violin is
used as a pathway.
The text is justified and kept in
columns on the front page
from top to bottom.
