Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said
   we shouldn't spank our children
        when they misbehave
                because
       their little personalities
        would be warped and
          we might damage
          their self-esteem
(Dr. Spock's son committed suicide).

          And we said OK.
Then someone said,
  let's let our daughters
have abortions if they want,
and they won't even have to
     tell their parents.

     And we said OK.
Then some wise school
        board member said,
since boys will be boys and
they're going to do it anyway,
         let's give our sons
   all the condoms they want
          so they can have
all the fun they desire, and
we won't have to tell their parents
    they got them at school.

        And we said OK.
Then some of our top elected officials
        said it doesn't matter
        what we do in private
as long as we do our jobs.
         Agreeing with them,
                we said
       it doesn't matter to me
             what anyone,
      including the President,
            does in private
              as long as
           I have a job and
        the economy is good.
Then someone said
   let's print magazines with
 pictures of nude women and
       call it wholesome,
 down-to-earth appreciation for
the beauty of the female body.

And we said OK.
Then the entertainment industry said,
let's make TV shows and movies that
          promote profanity,
             violence, and
               illicit sex.
        Let's record music that
   encourages rape, drugs, murder,
     suicide, and satanic themes.

And we said it's just entertainment,
     it has no adverse effect,
nobody takes it seriously anyway,
         so go right ahead.
Now we're asking ourselves
why our children have no conscience,
why they don't know right from wrong, and
why it doesn't bother them to kill
strangers, their classmates and themselves.
2. Why bad habits are bad, though
                  they feel good?

Why bad habits are bad?

            No Meat-Eating
When the animals are slaughtered, their minds
are filled with Negative emotions of Fear and
Violence leading to Adrenaline secretion. When
we eat their meat, our minds become filled with
similar Negative emotions.
Why bad habits are bad?
             No Intoxication

         Drugs initially give a feeling
         of elation, but soon make
         one glide down to
         depression.

         By consuming intoxicants,
your mind is not your own
         anymore.

What is the difference between a living body and a dead body?

                                    Lord Krishna
                                  taught Arjuna :
                                  “You are not the

Material View

We are bodies made up of matter
We are no more than a chemical bundle.
Everything is finished at the time of death.
Spiritual View
               Point

We are not the material body of flesh and bones.
We are spirit soul, encaged in the material body.
We do not die when material body stops to function.

                                        Just as the bird is
                                      trapped in the cage,
                                     the soul is trapped in
                                     the body made up of
                                         five elements –

                                     real identity as the soul,
                                        the people spend all
                                       their life in polishing
                                      the cage – pampering
                                         the body, without
                                         feeding the soul.
                                         Can you say how?
What is the difference between a living body and a dead body?
Every living body -- be it human, animal, bird, tree,
reptile or any other living body –
                 undergoes six changes –
 1. birth 2.growth 3.maintenance 4.production of
             by-products 5.dwindling 6.death.
The soul is covered by
           gross and subtle coverings

Gross body :
 Earth,
 Water, Subtle body :
 Fire, Mind
 Air Intelligence
 Ether False Ego

                                          S oul :
                                         Eternity
                                         Knowledge
                                         Bliss
Lord
Sri Krishna
instructs …
Even in the current life ‘you’, the soul is reincarnating
from childhood body to boyhood the embodied
“As to youth to old age.
                              soul continuously
                               passes, in this
                                 body, from
                              boyhood to youth
                               to old age, the
                                soul similarly
                                 passes into
                               another body at
                             Bhagavad - .” 2.13
                                 death gÊtä
What happens to us at Death?
The soul leaves the gross body behind and is taken to another
womb based on the quality of desires stored in his subtle body
             at the time of death.

“As a person puts on new dresses, giving up old ones, the
soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old
                 and useless ones.” [BG 2.22]

In his doctorate thesis on
‘Effects of the Hare Krishna mahamantra on Stress, Depression
and the three gunas’ Dr.David Brian Wolf mentions that
by chanting Hare Krishna mantra regularly,
persons who habitually think depressing thoughts
such as, “I am worthless”
train themselves to replace these thoughts with thoughts
that are rewarding and supportive of self-esteem.

What do the major
religions say about
 chanting the holy
  names of Lord?
Christianity

      Christ glorified the
     Lord’s holy name by
      saying “Our Father
      who art in Heaven,
       hallowed be Thy
            Name”
Sikhism
      Guru Nanak
     prayed “In the
    ambrosial hours
            of
     the morning I
    meditate on the
    grace of the true
        name”
Islam

       Muslims
   repeatedly chant
   the sacred name
           of
     God - “Allah”
Buddhism

     Buddhists also
    practice repetition
      of the name of
       Lord Buddha
      (namu amida
           butsu)
Sanätana dharma
                 It also
             recommends
            repetition of the
           holy names of the
            Lord, in form of
                Mantras

Make truth and love as the
foundation of life

The world we live in is simply a drama stage.
We originally belong to the spiritual world.
Remember this fact and be aware
that we’ve to reap the fruits for every action.
Give up bad habits and prepare yourself to
return back to your original home – the spiritual world.
Thank You Very Much...
            May God bless you
             to become free from all
               vices and imbibe all
                 virtues and bringforth
                    unending Bliss !
