Consumer electronics in Italy experienced slower growth in 2009 than in 2008 in current value terms and a decline in volume terms.
The growth in the third and fourth quarters only partially compensated for the negative growth in the half of the year. Growth declined
in both current value and volume terms in all categories except televisions and netbooks; this was mainly thanks to the switch from
analogue to digital television, which started in 2008.
