This is a draft presentation on 1 simple suggestion to the Federal Government of Canada on the Budget consultation in 2012 with the public in Richmond Hill. Lets build a world class track and field centre in the Richmond Hill area to promote the well-being of Canadians.

• Full complement of facilities for pole vault,
high jump, triple and long jump, javelin, shot
put, discus, hammer throw, weight throw,
hurdles and steeple chase, weight rooms,
aerobics facilities.
• Facility equipped with sports medicine clinic

• Children and Youth, Adults, Seniors
• Helps Reduce Childhood Obesity in Canada which is 1 in 4!
• Aspiring, Amateur, Masters, and Professional Athletes
• Olympic and Paralympic Athletes
• Public Schools, Extended Physical Education Programs, Extra
Curricular Programs both Private and Public
• Organizations promoting health, fitness, sport, and athletics
• Health Care Services and Related. (Eg. Physiotherapist,
Chiropractors, Registered Massage, Kinesthiologists,
Entrepreneurs, Coaches and Trainers…helps create jobs).
• Individuals – YOU ! Improved quality‐of‐life, reduced long
term costs on the health care system. May also lower crime
rates in the community.

6. Why a Track and Field Centre?
• There is not a single track and field centre in York Region.
• Population density and aging population are due for this type of centre
• We need a local centre for current and future aspiring athletes
• Winter is long, indoor track and field facilities provide an natural approach
to walking, jogging, running and other kinetics that no private gym or
private fitness centre typically affords.
• Inspire young kids to have dreams, to dedicate to a life long journey of
health, fitness, and wellness.
• We can diversity the local economy and spawn an industry of related
services, and products
• Venue for Community, Provincial, and National Sporting Events,
International Sporting Events (Pan Am), Sponsorship Opportunities
• Health and Fitness, whether it is walking indoors or running is integral for
improving the well‐being of Canadians

communities nearby such as Vaughan,
Markham, Aurora and Newmarket.
