1. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Introduction:
Nothing in the world can be done without technologies especially in this age
of media technology. I have used many media technologies in my
construction of the 3 tasks: the music video, the magazine ad, and the
digipak.
I will be explaining about some of the media technologies and how I used
them throughout my project.
1) I used total video converter to convert my filmed clips to the ‘AVI’
format that can be edited in Adobe premiere.
2) I used blogger to save up and collect all the data related to my projects
so that I have track of what I have done and what I need to do
systematically.

2. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
3) I needed a wireless internet device so that when I was travelling I could
still carry on with my work, so I bought a “PTCL EVO USB” which was a
wireless internet device. It really helped me as I was mostly travelling
and it saved up on my time.
4) A keyboard was used for the production of the tune of my song for the
music video.
5) I used mobiles to take pictures for evidence of the audience feedback. I
used 2 different mobiles. One was used to take pictures and the other
to make videos.

3. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
6) An ‘HP’ pc computer was used to edit the video and to make the
magazine advert and digipak.
7) Adobe PDF reader was used as I had to download some PDF files for a
reference and to take ideas to make my blog better.
8) I uploaded the final audio for my song at “picosong.com” as this was
the best site I found to upload my audio and it was much faster than
other audio uploading sites.
9) I used Corel draw to create my digipak and the magazine ad to some
extent.

4. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
10) I also used windows movie maker to edit some part of my video.
11) I used an HP mini laptop to carry around with my EVO USB as my
mini laptop would fit anywhere I wanted it to and I could carry it
everywhere. Most of the work I did was on my mini laptop.
12) I used adobe Photoshop CS2 to edit my digipak and magazine ad
in extra detail.

5. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
13) Microsoft PowerPoint played a huge role throughout, as I made
most of my presentations especially the research work on PowerPoint.
14) I used windows media player to play my videos to see if they are
edited correctly or need further improvement.
15) YTD downloader was also of some use to me as I had to
download some videos to take their screen shots as I used to get very
irritated with the videos on the internet stopping again and again to
get loaded properly.

6. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
16) I downloaded some fonts that I needed like “alibi” and “new
romantics” from a free site “dafont.com”.
17) I used Facebook to get some feedback but then I had to
deactivate my account due to some security reasons.
18) Slide share played a huge role in my projects as I uploaded all my
presentations which I made in word and in PowerPoint.

7. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
19) Nitro reader was also used to view PDF files. I found it to be
more convenient than Adobe reader as it allows its users to edit,
highlight and underline its text.
20) I used ‘paint’ to crop the screen shots I had taken.
21) YouTube was also very helpful to me as I looked at previous
media students videos for reference and ideas.

8. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
22) I had to download ‘hotspot shield’ in order to access YouTube as
it is blocked in Pakistan due to some security reasons.
23) I used software named “mix pad” for mixing the audio I had
made.
24) Audio mixing software was used that was “mix craft”. This
helped my audio turn out to be very nice.
25) Microsoft word also played a role in my project as I made some
documents on the word software.

9. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
26) Internet explorer was used in order to surf the internet and
search for sources of help.
27) A professional microphone was used to record the song.
28) Headphones were also used while recording the song for
accuracy.

10. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
29) Google was the best search engine that I found to search for
relevant material for my blog. I used it to download certain images as
well as to search for different ideas for my project.
30) I found ‘Mozilla Firefox’ to be the fastest way of surfing the
internet.
31) I searched for some videos on Dailymotion as well due to the
blockage of YouTube in Pakistan. Due to this reason I also uploaded my
video on Dailymotion.

11. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
32) Vimeo was also a part of my project as I searched for some
videos from there as well.
33) I used ‘ProShow Producer’ to make a collage of my video’s
screenshots and put them behind the lyrics on the digipak.
34) Windows photo viewer was also software that I used to view
different pictures I added into my project.

12. How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
35) How can a movie be a movie without cameras? I used
professional cameras ‘Panasonic HDC –MDH1’ for recording and a
digital camera for taking the pictures.
