• Mount Shasta is the 2nd highest peak in the
Cascade Range. Mount Rainier is only 249 feet
taller.
• It is also the 5th highest peak in California. The
tallest mountain is Mt. Whitney.
• Shasta is a formidable mountain, and is still
considered an active volcano.
• The Mount Shasta Ski Park is located on the
mountain and is a popular place for avid skiers.
• People can hike up the glaciers or through the
