2. Company Sought to Manage HR Processes More
Strategically in Response to Rapid Growth
The diversified nature of Abhijeet Group, coupled with the
company’s rapid growth, cumulated in manual and disjointed
processes for their HR organization. As Abhijeet grew, the paper-
based activities and maintenance of their HR data became
time-consuming and decreased the productivity of the HR and
Administration teams. Abhijeet sought a solution that would
transform their human resources organization from transactional
to strategic. In particular, the unique HR processes that Abhijeet
sought to modernize included:
▪▪ Replace paper-based system for travel requests, travel
expenses, vacation and training requests and performance
reviews with a robust online system
▪▪ Replace manual printing and distribution of paychecks and
Form 16’s (India’s wage and tax statement) with PDF forms
that would be accessible to all employees online
▪▪ Create an online employee address book, contact details and
investment declarations
▪▪ Develop a flexible portal system that would be tightly
integrated with the backend SAP ERP ECC system to
decentralize the HR processes

YASH conducted a detailed study of Abhijeet’s HR business

innovative, customer-centric solution that incorporated SAP
HCM Employee Self-Service (ESS) and Manager Self-Service (MSS)
modules, SAP Level 2 Workflows, and SAP NetWeaver 7.0. In order
to integrate the necessary HR processes into the portal-based
ESS/MSS applications, YASH created the following customized
enhancements:

and flexible portal system tightly integrated to the backend SAP
ECC system.

4. Single System and Streamlined Processes Result in Tremendous Savings and Value
After going live in only three short months, employees now enjoy broad access to their data through ESS and can change
their information as needed. With access to more comprehensive information, employees can make more informed
decisions and bring more value to their jobs, resulting in positive impact to the company.
With a diverse range of skill sets to manage, Abhijeet can now use ESS/MSS to ensure that its employees are making the
most of their talents and that they are placed where they can bring the most value. They can now collect information
about employees’ relative performance and career potential in a controlled and consolidated way.
Automated online forms for approval processes of vacation, travel request and expenses, and training significantly
reduced HR administration’s time and resources. Having a single system, streamlining critical processes and gaining
consistency helped reduce mistakes and increased productivity, which directly translated into a reduction of costs.
ESS/MSS has proved to be an invaluable tool. The solution enabled the company to operate more efficiently and use
its resources more strategically by using features for assessing performance and managing training needs. HR team
members have fewer maintenance tasks and can now concentrate on value-adding tasks. The once inadequate disjointed
systems were replaced with a robust solution and will allow Abhijeet a scalable and agile mechanism to overcome growth
obstacles.
