2. “Management is efficiency in climbing the ladder of success; leadership determines
whether the ladder is leaning against the right wall” - Stephen R Covey
The Forum
Global Leadership Forum in India was initiated in 2005 from first Global Leadership Conference held at Indian Institute
of Management, Calcutta aiming to create new dimensions of leadership and develop new breed of leadership
integrating the ancient thoughts originated in India and modern leadership practices throughout the World. The Forum
has now emerged as a popular platform of the stalwarts from corporate world, social and government organizations,
as well as academia.
GLF organizes Global Leadership Conferences and Development Programs under “Learning For Leadership Series” that
seeks to develop professional managers and leaders for all walks of life and intends to set up a “Centre of Excellence in
Learning for Leadership” for inclusive leadership development. .It confers Global Leadership Awards to Thought &
Practice Leaders for their incredible contribution. The Forum is involved in researches and publications for
dissemination of knowledge.
In 2009, GLF set off School of Management which acts as a catalyst to the evolution of management education in the
21st century. Over a span of nearly four decades, the focus has gradually evolved from “Administration” to
“Management” and now “Leadership” as a Leader is more than Administrator or Manager. Leadership Wisdom is
integrated with the management program to create new breed of leaders with global perspective in both thought and
practice. The School seeks to offer its management and leadership learning to student groups reflecting a blend of
various socio-economic background and traits.
Emblem
The cyclonic symbol and the triangle in the emblem signify thought leadership with a creative and sensitive mind and
practice leadership stretching its arms beyond the frame of convention, represented by the rectangle. Three colors
within the rectangular frame signifies sky, soil and sea – in all spheres, known or unknown … familiar or unfamiliar …
comfortable or uncomfortable, a leader’s work should go on.

practice areas with brilliant track records and are excellent in mentoring the students of different merit groups. The
faculty strength is collaborative to the teaching model at GLFSM that gives equal emphasis on the three important
aspects of management education, viz. 1. Theory, 2. Tools & Technique, and 3. Application / Practices. The Faculty
members of GLFSM intend to break the myth that management education is only for the crème de la crème students
and prepares the students of average merit to prove themselves in the management profession. Instead of the
curriculum-based and exam-oriented learning, the faculty encourage the students to augment thinking ability and
connect the theory, tools and techniques with the practices that enable the students to establish their leadership in
post-MBA career.
