To do a comparative analysis of artificial light intensity of different areas in northern Illinois. Also, to see if they have a relation with urban and rural areas. Through this analysis we were able to quantify the size of the impact the city of Chicago has across northern Illinois. The counties that we focused on were: Lake, McHenry, Boone, Winnebago, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb, DuPage, and Cook

pollutions are farms, not park systems
 Many park systems are affected by light
pollution, which may affect nocturnal species
 The greater area of Chicago creates an
umbrella of light pollution extending 10Km
westward and northward all the way past the
Wisconsin border
 We successfully modeled the light pollution
levels in the areas chosen to visually show the
effects…
