13. 1. The per day admissions are on declining
trends.
2. The mortality rates are on increasing trends
3. For the last half 2011 and early 2012, the
number of major and minor surgeries were
declining, except last three months, where the
trends are positive.
4. The overall mortality in Gandhi Hospital
appears to be high.
14. Even though the sanctioned bed strength is 1040,
average on bed is 1250. The highest number being
1450 on bed patients.
This puts lot of burden on the system.
15. Lack of Technical staff:
The detailed proposal for the need of Technical staff
is being submitted as per the ref no.
16. The lack of anesthetist:
Old Gandhi Hospital had 12 operation tables, where as new Gandhi Hospital
the number of operation tables suddenly increased to 28.
Similarly the number of tables in emergency OTs increased from 3 to 7. But
there is no increase in number of professor posts (3), Assistant professors
posts (12). The number of posts remained static for the last 20 years.
Number of surgical units increased steadily over the years. But there is no
increase in anesthesia units. The number of Anesthesia units remained same
(3only) for the last 20 years.

The proposal for enhancement of post in the Department of Anaesthesia are
submitted as per the Ref No: Proposal for the enhancement of the post of
anesthetist dated 16-10-2010.
