In March 2013, Sarmady held a competition calling on digital identity experts and designers to submit their artwork for Akhbarak.net's new identity. A creative brief was shared and a lot of submissions were received. The competition's tab on Sarmady's Facebook Page saw nearly 4000 Page Views, the Creative Brief was downloaded over 1,300 times, and over 300 designs and branding concepts were submitted.
Without further ado, we give you Mohamed Hemat's winning design. Hemat is a 29 year old engineer, who has been a freelance digital branding and identity designer for the past 6 years. His design stood out proudly among all submissions.
Hemmat went an extra mile in the implementation by submitting an innovative take on the identity’s implementation. He implemented the design on 10+ applications (Advertising banners, thumbnail image, icon, large thumbnail, among others). He also created the new identity’s guidelines of all the do’s and don'ts with the designs, which greatly facilitates the identity’s implementation by any designer.
