Saskatchewan in motion created the 30-30-30 model to encourage a shared approach to providing physical activity for kids. Saskatchewan in motion recommends kids achieve the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity by participating in 30 minutes of physical activity at home, in the community and at school. This presentation focuses on the 30 minutes of physical activity at home.

Editor's Notes
Being an active role model for the kids you care about is one of the most important things that you can do. Kids who have active parents are most likely to be active throughout their adult life.
Speak out for physical activity. Ensure that community leaders understand what it takes to increase physical activity opportunities for children and youth to be active in their communities. Use your leadership to make physical activity a priority at home, at school, in the community and throughout the province.

The average Canadian child spends 6 hours in front of screen per weekday, and 7 hours in front of a screen on weekends. Our little ones are starting to watch television as young as 5 months of age. Don’t you think it’s time to unplug our kids? Start by replacing 30 minutes of screen time with 30 minutes of physical activity. This simple substitution will go a long way to increasing physical activity levels. Cell Phone - #4270908 Television - #7989269 Video Games - #4413819 Computer - #11841871
