This is the Cover Page slide which is displayed while the meeting participants are gathering. It remains displayed through opening comments. (after everyone is seated) Good (morning) / (afternoon) my name is David Smith, some of you know me and some of you are meeting me for the first time. I have been tasked to investigate the options of social media for improving Compass Technologies presence in the Internet community, helping us to improve the recognition of the unique skills and technology that we have to offer our clients. Brand recognition, be it a product or service is important to the continued success of our company. Additionally this will provide more opportunities to provide greater service to our clients by helping them with greater recognition of their products and services.
Today’s presentation covers the topics shown here. The purpose of this presentations is to provide information regarding Social Media so that we as a company can make the appropriate decision regarding Compass Technologies’ participation in this phenomenon that has taken the Internet by storm.
Social Media is: Interactive platforms via which individuals and communities create and share user-generated content A group of Internet-based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0, and that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content. So what does this mean? Social Media provides a means and method of communication with the general public as well as users of our services. The key here is the term “user-generated content.” User-generated content is a whole plethora of things; ideas, opinions, likes, dislikes, improvements of products or services, enhancements to name a few.
Social media technologies take on different forms including magazines, Internet forums, weblogs, social blogs, micro-blogging, wikis, social networks, podcasts, photographs or pictures, video, rating and social bookmarking Short Commercials (30 Seconds) can be posted on YouTube and sites like Facebook. Initially there would be small impact; however, as knowledge of our postings increase we could easily reach hundreds of thousands of people. While we are a B2B business, and would invite past and future clients to our postings, the fact that someone who is from a client company finds our posts, could lead to more clients. An important thing to remember is that posting to these sites does not cost.
A major difference between traditional or standard Internet medias is that social media allows you to interact with the information instead of simply presenting you with the information.
Social Media Marketing is the process of marketing a business or website by interacting with existing or potential customers through popular social networking websites and online communities. The goal is to drive large amounts of traffic to our website and branding of our product(s) and company More visitors to our website has the potential for more clients which would result in more profit.
Social media sites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube are assisting B2B companies reach out and touch their current clients and potential clients. if Compass Technologies is to be a leader in our industry we need to be knowledgeable in the current marketing trends and use these vehicles to help not only our clients, but to enhance our own Corporate image and improve our image
This figure shows what a typical Social Media Campaign entails.
This slide shows the most common Social Media sites and the types of activities associated with them.
Once Social Media actions are initiated it becomes necessary for someone to be responsible for the postings. The position of Social Media Coordinator will need to be established and staffed. As Social Media activity progresses and expands addition staffing may be required.
A well thought out plan for implementing Social Media for Compass Technologies will provide greater public recognition of the company and our products and services Which will result in more clients and an increase in profits.
I recommend that Compass Technologies join the growing number of business that are effectively utilizing Social Media for the benefit of their company. That we develop a marketing for Social Media and implement utilization of Social Media on our website as soon as possible.
