3. Business Task You will be selling your product in the school on Friday 25th February. Today we will be planning this activity. What will we need to do to be ready?

Business Task First thing to think about – MONEY Create a spreadsheet for your group Include Money that you are going to invest What you need to buy – and how much it will cost How many items of your product will you make? How much will you need to sell your product for to make a profit? How many items will you need to sell to break even?

5. Business Task Please think carefully about how much money you are prepared to invest in your business. Remember you are only selling to other students! In the past only 1 or 2 groups have made a loss. Broken equipment Running out of one ingredient and having lots of leftovers of other ingredients Selling products too cheap Selling products too expensive Biggest profit – about 3000B – can you make more?

6. Business Task Second thing to think about – PROMOTION How are you going to let people know about your product? Think about Menu or price list Promotional poster Advertising – Facebook, word of mouth...

8. Business Task Third thing to think about – PREPARATION You must be prepared and ready to go, you only have a small window of time to sell your product! Think about Do you have the right equipment? Do you have enough ingredients or materials? Do you have somewhere to store ice? Do you have enough gas to cook? Do you need electricity?

9. Business Task Do you need extra time to set up your “shop”? What subjects are you studying on Friday afternoon? If you need extra time it’s better to ask in advance!

10. Mystery Shoppers Some mystery (secret) shoppers will grade your small business. The will mark you on: Quality of food Value for money Taste Customer Service Promotion of business (Poster/ Menu)
