Aliki Brandenberg is an American author and illustrator of children's books. She was born in 1929 in New Jersey and took art and piano lessons as a child. Aliki graduated from art school in 1951 and worked at JC Penney before traveling to Europe where she met her husband. She has written and illustrated over 80 books on a wide variety of topics for children. Some of her most popular books include The Story of Johnny Appleseed, The Story of William Tell, and Mummies Made in Egypt. Aliki currently lives in London where she continues to write and illustrate children's books.
