2. Kingdom First
• The Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of Heaven is a
foundational concept.
• Jesus preached about the Kingdom over 100 times in the
gospels.
• Our ministry theme for this year is “Kingdom First” using
Matthew 6:33 as our scripture reference.
• “Seek first the Kingdom and all these things will be added unto
you.”
• Kingdom Defined
• Kingdom is defined as a king’s domain. The king is the
embodiment of the kingdom.
• Christ is the King of God’s spiritual Kingdom.
• Therefore , Jesus Christ is the tangible, visible, or physical
expression of the Kingdom of God.
3. Kingdom Explained
• “God’s original plan was always to extend his heavenly
kingdom to earth. That was his original idea.
Secondly, God’s original plan was to influence each one of us
and everything on earth with heaven’s culture and to do it
through his children.
God’s plan was also to establish a colony of heaven on earth. It
is a very simple idea. So; the Bible is really not about a religion;
it is not religion; it is not about rituals; the bible is about a
government policy; it is about a kingdom with a plan to
establish its colony in another place.”
~The Kingdom, Dr. Myles Munroe
4. Two Invisible Kingdoms
• There are two spiritual kingdoms in operation and influence at all
times—The Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Satan
• Mankind was created to be totally dependent upon the reality of our
spiritual citizenship. We choose which Kingdom!
• In the Kingdom of God we are ambassadors, Priests, and Kings. (in the
order of Melkisedeck [Heb.,= king of righteousness] , as was Jesus Christ. see Hebrews 7)
• Key Verse: Luke 22:29, KVJ: “And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as
my Father has appointed unto me;”
• The Kingdoms of this world
• C. Peter Wagner Apostle & motivational speaker Lance Wallnau
explains the origin of the 7 Mountains Mandate, in which Christians
seeks to gain influence over the world
systems...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQbGnJd9poc
5. The Kingdoms of this world
• According to Wallnau
• These are the systematic kingdoms of this world. As citizens in
the Kingdom of God, we are to influence these systems:
1. Media
2. Education
3. Economy/Business
4. Government
5. Family
6. Arts & Entertainment
7. Spirituality (Church/Religion)
• These kingdoms represent also spiritual forces that shape and
influence our culture and that prioritizes the agenda of the
nations here on earth.
6. Kingdom of God
• The gospel of the Kingdom is an invitation for man to return to the
realm of life God originally intended.
• We are born into this natural world “upside down” and we are
shaped (influenced, cultural norms, environmental factors) by
iniquity (Satan’s Rule, see Psalm 51.5) because we are DEPENDANT
BEINGS.
• Romans 3:23, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
• The “New Birth” is the requirement for Kingdom citizenship.
• John 3:3, “Very truly I tell you, no man can see the kingdom of God
unless they are born again.”
• Repentance: The complete reversal of one’s thinking, attitude and
values in order to agree with God’s thinking, attitude and values.
• By repentance, we align ourselves with our Jesus Christ our King and
become the righteousness of God.
• See also; Rom 3:21-26, 1 Cor 1:30, 2 Cor 5:21, Rom 5:20-21
• He empowers our change. (Acts 26:20)
7. Kingdom of God
• Residency (activation) in the Kingdom of God requires a new
lifestyle governed by the Law and the principles of the
Kingdom.
• Grace is the Law [principle, regulation, controlling influence] of
the Kingdom!
• In John 8 we see the paradox of grace and truth in operation through
Jesus Christ.
• See 1 Cor 15:9-10, Grace change and empowerment in action
• See 2 Cor 12:9, Grace eternal supply is ever flowing.
• Faith its primary method of operation!
• Life in the spiritual kingdom affects the quality of life in the visible
natural world. What we see is produced by what we don’t see. That
is why we must ‘walk *live+ by faith’ and not by sight! 2 Cor 5:7
• See; Rom 8:24, 1 Cor 13:12, 2 Cor4:18, Heb 11:1
8. Kingdom of God
• God’s Kingdom exists in the eternal realm, we exist in the
temporal realm. Our transition in thought, word, and deed is
determined by our consistent pursuit of the King, Jesus Christ
our Lord!
• Our Transition requires Training in the Eternal
• "For those He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the
image of His Son!" Romans 8:29
• "We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we
will see Him as He is!" 1 John 3:2
• "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the
Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory." 2
Corinthians 3:18
