2. Flashback !!!
• Long before the 16th century, wine was a popular product for
trading in European region.
• In the early 16th century, a Dutchman trader invented the way
to ship more wine in the limited cargo space by removing
water from the wine.
• Then he could add the water back to the concentrated wine at
the destination port in Holland.
• They called it "bradwijn," meaning "burned wine," and later
became "brandy."

How to Drink Cognac ???
13. • Choose your wineglass.
• A tulip shaped wineglass
is universally preferred
among cognac drinkers,
but a low spherical
wineglass is also
acceptable.
14. • Pour about 25 ml (0.85
oz) of cognac into your
wineglass.
16. • Allow the cognac to
warm in your hand.
• Hold your wineglass
containing the cognac for
around 10 minutes. Cup
the bottom of the
wineglass in your palm to
help it reach room
temperature or around
70 degrees Fahrenheit
(21.11 C).
17. • Look at the surface color
of the cognac.
• The color it reflects will
indicate its age.
• Observe a straw yellow
color to indicate a young
cognac.
• Notice a golden, amber
or auburn red hue for
older cognacs.
18. • Smell your cognac. Place
your nose on the edge of
your wineglass and inhale
the aroma, which is also
known as the "montant
odor."
• Depending on the cognac,
the smell will range from
floral to fruity.
• Floral scents may hint of
violets or roses, which
fruity scents may suggest
grapefruits or plums.
19. • Swirl the cognac gently
while it's in your glass.
• This will help release
different aromas.
20. • Smell your cognac again.
• You may be able smell
some different aromas as
a result of swirling the
cognac.
21. • Take a small sip of your
cognac.
• A small sip will ensure you
will be able to distinguish
all the flavors the cognac
has to offer.
• Let the cognac pass over
your palate slowly so you
can enjoy its complex
texture.
