3. Activity 1 (2012): Valentine’s Day
Fun Valentine's activities
(all with Biblical tie-ins) to share with you:
http://www.teachsundayschool.com/kmpp/testdrive.html
Valentine's Day is a celebration of love.
And LOVE is the ultimate Christian message.
I like to teach children early the idea that love is a
commitment more than a feeling—
and that goes for relationships with friends, family,
and with God himself!
Below is a listing of the "Love" themed activities
I'm sharing today
(these are perfect to use over the next 3 weeks
before Valentine's Day):
*Idea Starter: Focusing on Four Biblical
“Love” Themes
*Lesson: Love is a Commitment, Not a Feeling
*Valentine's Game: Circle of Love
*Valentine's Craft #1: Love Calendar
*Valentine's Craft #2: Love Butterflies
*Science Experiment: Change White Flowers
into Red Flowers
*Valentine's Day Service Project: Winter Drive

5. Activity 2 (2012): Story of Elijah, God, and Baal in 1 Kings 18
A *brand new* Bible game to share with
you today, it's called "Break Through":
http://www.teachsundayschool.com/breakthrough.html
Use this Bible game when telling the story
of Elijah, God, and Baal in 1 Kings 18.
1) It's Active. (A life saver when the kids are restless)
2) No Materials Are Needed. (No last minute trips to the store)
3) It's Great For ALL ages. (tots to tweens)
4) It helps kids learn to stand up for what they
feel is right (even when that might not be the
popular choice).
Go learn how to play the game here:

6. Activity 3 (2012): Easter
Because EASTER is just around the corner and it's
time to start planning if you teach Sunday School.
Here's what I've got in the works for Easter 2012:
http://www.teachsundayschool.com/easter.html
Easter's a "tricky" holiday for kids because
of the mature themes.
I struggled for years trying to figure out
the best way to introduce children to the
story of Jesus' death and resurrection.
After all, there's more to Easter than bunnies,
baskets, eggs, and jellybeans.
I finally came up with a way to teach children about
the true story of Easter at an *age appropriate
level*.
My approach is a little bit "different",
but I think you're going to be excited to give
this idea a try:

7. Activity 4 (2012): Memory Verses
Here are 3 fun ways to help kids learn memory verses:
http://www.teachsundayschool.com/memory2.html
At the website above, you'll learn:
1) Index Card Mad Dash (A Hands-On Game)
2) Point It Out Mural Making (A Visual Game)
3) Beatle Mania (An Auditory Game)
I'm a strong believer in teaching children
memory verses, but my #1 rule is that we have
to have fun while we learn.
Being the "Big Kid" that I am, I always turn
to games as my favorite teaching tool.
You won't need any special materials, all the
games can be done with stuff you've already
got hanging around the house :-)
Plus, you can use all 3 games for ANY verse!
(these "memory tricks" also help kids with
their regular schoolwork, not just Bible study)

8. Activity 5 (2012): Skits
Skits are one of my all time favorite teaching tools.
A hilarious original Bible skit called
"Solomon Gets the Gold" to share with you today:
http://www.teachsundayschool.com/skits.html
I'm a huge fan of skits because they are SO FLEXIBLE.
I've used the Solomon Gets the Gold skits with kids
ranging in age from 5-18!
(I show you how to use skits with various age groups
at the site above- even the little guys who can't read yet).
I've got 3 rules when selecting a skit to use in class:
1) It's gotta be short, yet message driven.
2) I don't have time for hours of prep or rehearsal.
3) The Script has to be written for TODAY'S children.
This skit meets all 3 of my requirements:
