Project
• Target - 2nd largest U.S. retailer
• Milton chosen over 6 other municipalities considered
• 1.3 million square foot distribution centre on
75+ acre site opens in 2012
• 500-700 employees, $420,000 tax revenues/yr
• $28M in development charges
3. Sun Products Corporation Opens
Distribution Centre
• Leased entire 400,000+sqft facility at 8690
Escarpment Way
• Adjacent land beside building can accommodate a
176,000sqft expansion
• Sun Products brands include Sunlight laundry, Wisk,
Snuggle and All-laundry
4. Phoenix Contact Opens New Head
Office
• Opened new 25,000sqft Canadian headquarters on Parkhill Drive in
August
• Leading developer & manufacturer of industrial electrical and electronic
technology. Tech products include connectors, wireless Ethernet, classical
modular terminal block
• Hired several local qualified candidates for several highly skilled
professional career opportunities in sales/marketing, production,
automation and development. 50-65 new local jobs in Milton by the end
of 2011
• German-based innovative company has over 11,000 employees
worldwide
5. Chudleigh’s Expands Again
• Expanded commercial bakery facility to
accommodate hiring more staff and new product
ideas
• Expanded from 82,000 square feet to 110,000 square
feet - more office and warehouse space
• Over 150 full time staff
6. Greenlife Business Centre
Development
• DelRidge to build Canada’s most progressive office
building in field of sustainable technology in Milton
• 2-storey office building, GFA of 28,000sqft
• Only “net-positive” facility of its kind in Canada – will
generate more energy than it consumes
7. CRM Call Centre moves into 555
Industrial Drive
• Created 45 new jobs in the community
• Named one of Canada’s fastest growing
companies by PROFIT 200 Magazine ranking
• Moved into the back of building at 555
Industrial Drive
8. MEV Innovation Centre
• Business centre and incubator concept being developed
• Site and building already exists: 555 Industrial Drive
Max capacity of 25,000sqft
• Ground floor office opportunity to be involved in centre
• Common boardrooms, office areas, cafeteria, etc. on site
• Centre is a start and catalyst to larger research park (MEV)
9. Interest in Non-Residential
Investment in Milton
• Working on some very large, significant
projects
– 3 in Escarpment Business Community under
application or planned. Expected to be built by
the end of 2013
– 2 large industrial users considering Milton, similar
in size to Target project
