business. UNIFY is the centralized application build up for supporting Point of Sale
and Provisioning system at PAN India Level. VF Reporting was one of critical
requirement of Business.Apart of centralised reports, there were requirements of few
MIS and adhoc reports at circle level for .
As strategic IT partner we proposed them a solution based on Oracle database as
back end and MicroStrategy as BI reporting Tool.
The scope of the assignment was to build up robust reports for post-paid customers
status, customer type, payment collections, customer outstanding, collection agents
performance, area wise and plan wise new activations and rebate reports.
Below are the main functionalities of VF Postpaid Reports.
Post paid customer type reports provide count of customers in various categories
like Platinum, Gold, Silver and Normal.

Post paid customer status reports provides area wise and plan wise customer
status (Active, Incoming Barred, Suspend and In-Active). These reports are
useful to take relevant decision to improve business in particular areas.
Payment collection reports provide clear picture on customer plan wise, status
wise and area wise payments which will helpful to identify and take correct
decision on improving revenue.
Outstanding reports are useful to identify count of customers above overdue and
its AOD (age of due) and is useful to identify the collection agents for outstanding
customers.
Collection agents reports are meant to track performance of agents on collecting
outstanding amounts.
These reports are
Tracking and mapping customer to various collection agencies depending upon
its AOD and Overdue.
New activation reports provide count of new customers on area wise and plan
wise.

India: Wire line, CDMA mobile, GSM Mobile, Internet, Broadband, Carrier service, VPN,

The existing billing system(Dot soft) of BSNL was based on OMR and CMR reading,
where exact call units were not being tracked. The project was to develop one
centralised application, integrating all small applications, and to provide end to end
service for Land line including CDR based billing System.
Reporting system in CDR is one of the critical module. There are several Module
specific Dashboards and Reports. These Reports and Dashboards are the important
interface for the Business management.
We have build up reports and dashboards customer account management, customer
service management, service requests and trouble tickets modules with Microstrategy
as the BI tool and Oracle as the back end database.
These reports and Dashboards were accessible by DGM, GM, CGM, DE, AO and
AOTR for a specific telecom circle.
These reports for bsnl land-line and broadband are mainly divided into Customer
Account related reports, Customer service related reports and
Customer account management reports :
Count of customers based on Rural and Urban, locality and sub-locality, land-
line plan, broadband plan and customer category(VVIP, VIP and General).
These reports will helpful to improve business in particular localities based on
most popular land-line and broadband plan.
