I leap back one space on John's Isle of Patmos game board! We've stepped back out of eternity and into the more-ore-less familiar realm of time and space. Revelation Chapters 19-21 stands us on the boundary twixt these two states. They offer us a chance to explore two separate states, the so-called Millennium and the Eternal State. I see reasons for making a distinction between the two and explore my thinking in this presentation.

6. REPORT ON THE
TRIBULATION SIX
ISRAEL: In the Millennium, the world’s worship leaders
(Zechariah 12-14). Folded into the Eternal City’s structure
and architecture in Eternity (Rev 21:12).
THE NATIONS: Ruled with rod of iron in Millennium,
resurrected for the Great White Throne Judgment which
separates them into those with names in the Book of Life
and those with names not written there. Heaven for the
former, Hell for the latter!
CREATION: Reordered in Millennium, rebuilt in Eternity
7. I. THE MILLENNIUM
FAQ’S
Are there people in their natural bodies in the
millennium?
Could free will exist in the millennium for such people?
Would death still play a role among them?
Would we (raptured Christians) still witness to people?
Would any such people be saved in the millennium?
8. ARE THERE NATURAL PEOPLE
IN THE MILLENNIUM? YES.
Source for such a population:
Matthew 25:46–Jesus grants Sheep eternal life
Isaiah 66:19–Survivors of Armageddon
Their Presence in Millennium attested to:
Isaiah 66:23– “All mankind comes and bows down”
Zechariah 14:16–”The nations that are left . . .”
Zechariah 14:18–”The family of Egypt” used as
example
9. IS THERE FREE WILL
IN THE MILLENNIUM? YES.
Source: Matthew 25: Sheep nations have natural
children; free will comes standard.
Implied:
Revelation 2:26–Christians rule the nations with
a rod of iron (implies nations need control of
their selfish, free-wheeling wills)
Zechariah 14:17: Nations have a choice of
worshipping or not; they suffer when disobedient
Revelation 20:7–Satan appeals to the free will of
the citizens of the Millennium when released.
10. DOES DEATH (AND SIN)
EXIST IN THE MILLENNIUM? YES.
Abolished in Eternal State: Revelation 21:4–
“. . . . and there shall no longer be any death . . . ”
Therefore, logically, death existed in the earlier
Millennial State: Here’s corroboration.
Isaiah 65:20–Dying at 100 possible
Zechariah 14:18–Punishment for disobedience
Ezekiel 44:24–Disputes still exist and need
adjudicating
11. IS THERE SALVATION IN THE
MILLENNIUM? NO.
The Bride is complete before the Millennium starts
Completed–Rev 19:7–The Bride has made herself
ready upon Christ’s post-tribulational return
Joined to Christ–Revelation 19:10–Marriage
Supper of the Lamb at end of 70th Week
Judged–II Corinthians 5:10–Judgment Seat of
Christ evaluates works of the Church
Present on Earth–Matthew 25–‘these brothers of
Mine’ rule the Nations with rod of iron in
Millennium
12. II. THE ETERNAL STATE
FAQ’S
Who lives in the New Heaven and New Earth?
Who, if anyone, has Jesus assigned to Hell?
What role,if any, does sin play in the New Heaven and
New Earth?
What class of people does the Bible call “brothers” in
Revelation?
13. CITIZENSHIP IN THE
ETERNAL STATE’S NEW HEAVEN
In New Heaven:
The Church: As per John 14:2’s ‘many mansions’
and Rev 21:7 (we inherit The Eternal City) and
22:2 ‘serve Him in The Eternal City.
Israel: Implied by the 21:12 gates of the city
named for ‘the 12 tribes of sons of Israel’
The Lamb and God: Rev 22:3– Their thrones are
in the city.
14. CITIZENSHIP IN THE
ETERNAL STATE’S NEW EARTH
On New Earth: Individuals in the ‘Nations’ whose
names were in the Book of Life.
Rev 21:23–Nations walk by the light of the Eternal
City as opposed to dwellers IN the city who walk in
the light of the Lord God (Rev 5) inside the city.
Suspended above New Earth, the City easily
functions distinctly and apart.
Rev 21:24–The Kings of the Nations bring their
glory INTO the Eternal City, implying movement
from a position OUTSIDE that city. New Earth the
most obvious source location.
15. SOURCE OF CITIZENS IN THE
ETERNAL STATE’S NEW EARTH
Sheep– Granted Eternal Life but not a part of the
Body and Bride of Christ. They populate the New
Earth in resurrection bodies (See I Corinthians 15:50)
Faithful– (???) Any who kept (???) to the Camp of
the Saints at the Last Temptation of Mankind (Rev
20: 8+9) Given resurrection bodies???
Great White Throne Judgment: Rev 20:12–
Those whose names were in the Book of Life (Romans
2:6-16). Enter New Earth in resurrection bodies.
16. ROLE OF SIN AND DEATH IN
THE ETERNAL STATE: NONE
There is no sin here! Rev 21:27 states– “. . . and
nothing unclean and no one who practices
abomination and lying shall ever come into it (The
Eternal City), but only those whose names are
written in the Lambs Book of Life.”
There is no death here! Rev 21:4– “ . . . and He shall
wipe away every tear from their eyes and there shall
no longer be any death . . .”
17. SO WHO WENT TO HELL?
AntiChrist and False Prophet: Rev 19:20
‘Goats’: Matthew 25:46
Satan: Rev 20:10
Those with Mark of Beast: Rev 14:9+10)
Those who fell in Last Temptation of Man: Rev 20:10
Any whose names were NOT in Book of Life: Rev
20:14
18. WHAT ROLE DOES SIN PLAY IN

21. Please allow me to drop into the weeds a bit
here. If you’d rather get on with a survey of
Revelation, click HERE to avoid this little foray
and get to the last slide in this series.
Isaiah 65:17 muddies the waters a bit here the
way it’s worded and I want to take a shot at
clearing things up a bit.
22. Point of Order, Mr. Chairman:
Isaiah 65:17 has God announcing that “I create new
heavens and a new earth” and THEN goes on to
ribe what the Millennium looks like. But John
desc
uses this same phrasing to begin his treatment of
the Eternal State!!!
How can we then apply the section of Isaiah
65:19-25 to the Millennium?
A bit of a muddle?

27. So it is with Isaiah 65:17. Two prophetic eras may
ll combine in the prophet’s vision. With full
we
understanding of both the Millennium and the
Eternal State, we can distinguish between the two.
