Using Acts 1 and its account of the Ascension of Jesus Christ, I search for some boundary markers and guideposts for my daily use of NT prophecy. I want my study of Christ's return to be a part of my daily walk, not a flight from it. Our Lord's last words provide just such markers and posts!

5. ACTS 1:1-3
AN INTRODUCTION
Here, Luke launches into his
second history, one which
tells the story of the apostles
and of Paul, a most unlikely
and 13th member of this
devout group.
1. The first account I composed,
Theophilus, about all that Jesus
began to do and teach, 2. until
the day when He was taken up
to heaven, after He had by the
Holy Spirit given orders to the
apostles whom He had chosen.
3. To these He also presented
Himself alive after His suffering,
by many convincing proofs,
appearing to them over a period
of forty days and speaking of the
things concerning the kingdom
of God.

them together,
He commanded
them not to leave
Jerusalem, but to
wait for what the
Father had

A VISITATION
9. And after He had said
these things, He was
lifted up while they were

received Him out of their

were gazing intently into
the sky while He was
going, behold, two men
in white clothing stood
beside them.
