This is one of the presentation of Data Communication. Our teacher asked us on which topic (sector) of data communication will u work ?And we decided to work how waves affect on wireless communication or"Impact of waves on Wireless Communication" communication".
3. What is wireless Communication?
Transmitting voice and data using
electromagnetic waves in open space
(atmosphere)
Electromagnetic Waves
- Travel at speed of light (c=3*10^8 m/s)
-Higher frequency means higher energy photons.
-The higher the energy photon the more penetrating
is the radiation.

4. Types Of wireless communication:
Point to point-
Multi-point -

5. Basic Waves involved in communication
The 3 basic waves are
-Radio Waves
-Infrared Waves-Micro Waves

7. How waves help in mobile communication
1.RADIO WAVE- The broadcast of every radio and television
programme involves the use of radio waves.
.Radio waves are the type of electromagnetic waves with
the longest wavelengths
radio waves

microwaves
infrared

9. How are radio waves produced?
-
Radio waves are produced
by Passing an oscillating
electric current through a
long wire called an aerial.
-The frequency of the
radio wave produced is
the same as the
frequency of the
oscillating current.
9
10.
MICRO WAVE-
2.Every mobile phone conversation involves the
transmission of microwave signals.
-The wavelength of microwaves ranges from 30 cm
(the length of a standard ruler) to 1 mm (about the size
of a full stop).
Micro waves are widely used for one to one
communication between sender and receiver,
cellular phone, satellite networks and in
10
wireless LANs
11. How microwave produced?
Long-wavelength microwaves
are produced by aerials in a
similar way to other radio waves.
These types of microwaves are
used for communications.
Short-wavelength microwaves are
produced using a device called a
magnetron.
11
13. 3.
Infrared WAVE
Infrared radiation is a form of electromagnetic
radiation that lies between microwaves and visible
light on the electromagnetic spectrum.
Electromagnetic waves having
frequencies from 300 GHz to 400 THz
are also called IR waves or Infrared
waves. It also use in optical fibre as
well.
13
14. How it is transmitted?
IR waves are used for short range communication
and use line of sight propagation.
Infrared waves cannot pass through solid objects,
like walls and be easily contained in a room.
They are cheap, easy to build and do not require any
government license to use them.
IR waves offer very bandwidth for use.

16. Effects !
Radiofrequency Ranges (10 kHz to 300
GHz)
Effects only possible at ten times the
permissible exposure limit
Heating of the body (thermal effect)
Cataracts
Some studies show effects of teratoginicity
and carcinogenicity.
-Reduces fertility in male
