5. CASE 1: TANC fleet sharing
Are cities administrations in the Benelux using
their fleet optimally?
We analyzed the 2014 track & trace data of
some of our large city customers.

CASE 1: How does TANC work?
• A driver books a trip from A to B in our user-
friendly planning app.
• TANC determines which car is available and
will reserve the vehicle.
• The driver will be able to unlock the car on
the reserved date using an ID card.
• Trips are registered in detail by the ITmobile
track & track device. TAMC also monitors the
condition of the car (service details, error
codes and fuel level).
11. CASE 2: Order planning & dispatching
Working group Smart city logistics and fleet management 11
• The city of Ghent uses the ITmobile planning
tool DeskPlan to plan and dispatch delivery
orders to various city locations.
• DeskPlan calculates the most efficient route.
• Field operatives receive the orders on their
Android FieldMobile app.
• We compare the planned vs. actual route.
13. CASE 3: Street sweepers Antwerp
Working group Smart city logistics and fleet management 13
• The city of Antwerp compares the routes
planned for their street sweeper teams to the
actual route based on track & trace data.
• On a map the difference between the
planned and actual route is visualized.
• Sensor info is included on the map as well, so
actual “swept area” is both displayed and
reported.
14. Blue = Planned route, Purple = Actual route
