October is
National Bullying Prevention Month
and Red Ribbon Week
Students will spend the Red Ribbon Week is October 19th-25th

6. What are we studying??
Reading : What strategies to use when we get to
a tricky word.
Writing: Mentor authors. What is the author
doing that I could do in my own writing?
Math: Geometry. Making shapes.
Science: Matter. Solids, liquids and gases.
Make sure your child is reading 3-4 times a week at home! Make sure to sign the log!!

7. Reader’s Workshop: Series Books: Read many books with the
same character this month…Remember to read 20
minutes each night-talk about what you read with
someone
Writer’s Workshop: Realistic Fiction: Write
stories that could be real- make your
character real. Celebration coming

Math Workshop: Keep working on those addition
and subtraction strategies! Work on counting
money!! $$
