Start with the “WHY”
Set a Goal
Plan of Action
Why do Summer Camp?
 To give our community a safe, clean, fun place for
their children to experience the BEST Summer
Camp ever!
 To Generate substantial income during “SLOW”
Months.
 Feeder for an After School Program
Income Generator
 How do you justify the costs VS ROI Return on
Investment
 If you school is open from 10:00am – 8:00pm how
many hours is it actually in use?
Solution Summer Camp
 Most schools find the summer time to be slower
because many people go on vacation or take time off.
Solution Summer Camp

$15,920.00/month
Eight Weeks of Summer Camp $31,840.00
40 Summer Camper @ $199/wk = $7960.00/wk
$31,840.00/month
Eight Weeks of Summer Camp $63,680.00
How to Flip the Biggest Challenges
on their Head!
 How do I keep costs low?
1. Employees: 10:1 Ratio. Hire from with in
2. FREE Employees - C.I.T’s Counselors in Training:
12-13 year olds who will be in the program who you
give responsibility to. They are your future summer
camp employees
3. Field Trips – some school owners walk to outside
activities. We use vans that we own. If you do not
own vehicles you can hire outside transportation.

Best Practices and Tip for a Fool
Proof Summer Camp
 Do your due diligence and contact your attorney about
YOUR STATES LAWS concerning summer camp
 My suggestion is that if you can avoid licensing do so.
If you go down that road there is no going back and
you open the door to the state coming in and closing
you down. I have been doing summer camps for
almost 20 years with out a hitch.
