5. DiverseWorks is a non-profit art center
dedicated to presenting new visual,
performing, and literary art.
DiverseWorks is a place where the process of
creating art is valued and where artists can test
new ideas in the public arena. By encouraging the
investigation of current artistic, cultural and social
issues, DiverseWorks builds, educates, and
sustains audiences for contemporary art.

13. The Houston Theatre Alliance is
dedicated to the support and
promo=on of the theatre community in
Houston and the surrounding area.
14. • The Alliance Audi4ons: an annual area‐wide audi=on, which all local
theatre companies are encouraged to a9end, is open to all Equity and
non‐Equity actors. Addi=onally, designer poraolios and models are on
display and made available for companies to evaluate at the Alliance
Designer Showcase.
• The Nina Awards: “The Ninas” are designed to raise the public and media
awareness of the theatre community by empowering ar=sts and
recognizing excellence in Houston theatre. A commi9ee consis=ng of
representa=ves from HTA member theatres, independent local ar=sts, the
local media, and educa=onal ins=tu=ons are charged with adjudica=ng the
poten=al produc=ons and ar=sts. The awards are bestowed upon the
recipient at an annual award func=on following each Awards Year.
